If I had to guess it means “Singlecut-jumbo” but that’s just a guess based on their naming syntax.

The Starlas are definitely like a Filtertron and PAF had a love child. They are beautiful clean but take dirt really well.

Core Starla pickups follow the same naming syntax as the regular USA made pickups. I can say from first hand experience that the import ones are quite far away from the core Starla pickups. I had 2 sets, and sold one to a friend here. Saving the second set for when I finally get an S2 Thinline

Still pretty pricey, especially with no birds. Damn me for not buying one from Dave’s for like $8 and a pack of Marlboro reds when they blew out a slew of them years back. :(

To me, the newer ones are more bassy and the early ones have a little more bite to them. Just my personal observation.

Yeah, HB Spruce. It’s very resonant but also cuts really nicely.

The best ones are the ones that read “1957/2008” on the back I have a 57/08 in the neck and 59/09 in the bridge on this one.

SE Ones are super cool. Wish that I got along with singlecuts. I took an inspiration from Hans on my old one.

If you like the guitar, how it feels and plays unplugged then you can always change the pickups.

I am beyond amazed with the versatility of the P90 Mira. It can do pretty much everything.

If I didn’t have an amazing experience with Wolfetone for P90’s I would have gone with BKP for my Mira

Vela, S2 Thinline are the two on my list. Would love to have a Vela again, and a Thinline is as close as I’ll get to a Doublecut Starla
