New Core-line Modern Eagle V--where's the switch?

You raise a good point about the tremolo versus the stoptail. I really like the Paul’s Guitar stop tail as it’s much easier for me to mute with it than the tremolo on the MEV (which looks like much more like a Strat setup to me). I think the MEVs all come with rosewood fretboards - did you mean...

New Core-line Modern Eagle V--where's the switch?

Here’s the answer to the fret question: Thank you for contacting PRS Guitars. The Modern Eagle V will use the PRS Vintage fretwire, which is the same 'wide & low' style of fret-wire used on the Core Paul's Guitar.

Questions! Modern Eagle V vs 509

Modern Eagle V. It’s now a Core model and used to be much more of a special order/limited availability item.

New Core-line Modern Eagle V--where's the switch?

I’m hoping that somebody can tell me what the fret size is on the Modern Eagle V. I’m also wondering whether it’d be silly to add it to my Paul’s Guitar - the main appeal being able to get positions 2 and 4, hopefully somewhat like a Strat!

If you could change one thing about a PRS you own, what would it be?

My Paul’s Guitar would be perfect if it was as well-balanced on the leg as my Silver Sky. That’s it - that’s all I’d change.

    HDRX 100

Thanks very much for that feedback, much appreciated. It’s good to know that the various bright caps etc work and have the desired effect. Yeah - an attenuator seems to be a must-have with this beast! Enjoy!! I’ll keep practicing until I think I could even begin to do it justice - or maybe...

    HDRX 100

I wish I was a good enough player to make pulling the trigger on this head and cab a no-brainer! Does anybody have any comment on whether this amp has a sharp front-of-the-note attack? I hope that makes sense - I’m just not a big fan of that initial sharpness. I have a Morgan MVP23 that I...

    Greetings

Welcome and nice to hear of the journey to your dream guitarsenal! I’m a relatively new player (around 3 years) and late-starter, but making up for lost time. As much as I enjoy playing now, extra time in future retirement years is also appealing. I have a Silver Sky and Paul’s Guitar that I...

    Wood Library Paul’s Guitar (2019)

You are, of course, 100% correct. Although I’ve been in the US for 27 years, it sends that I hold onto some of what I think are signs British reserve! Don’t worry - I am bracing myself to ask the question! Everybody seems really over the moon with their Paul’s Guitar. I really, really like my...

    Wood Library Paul’s Guitar (2019)

Stupid autocorrect......I did, of course, mean to say that I could definitely use another guitar! 20% would be astonishingly good. I’ll definitely post up should I do the deal and thanks again for your messages.

    Wood Library Paul’s Guitar (2019)

Indeed! You speak the truth, Sir. I’ll definitely give that a go once the stars are aligned, ie, I shall only entertain treating myself to this once I have accomplished the prerequisite goals I set for myself. I’m weird like that! The good news is that I don’t actually need another guitar...

    Wood Library Paul’s Guitar (2019)

Hello All - I am deep into a mission to find a Paul’s Guitar that I just love the look of. I tend to prefer the more restrained versions of the beautiful tops. So, I found a few top candidates at a respected dealer, from whom I have also purchased before. These are 2019 Wood Library models and...

In praise of my Paul's Guitar...

Thank you for this thoughtful and very helpful reply - much appreciated! Your sensibilities for guitar’s gravitational tendencies sound identical to mine - all of my Strats (incl. Silver Sky) balance perfectly and I never think about them but my LP style guitar just always wants to head for the...

In praise of my Paul's Guitar...

I’m looking around for one myself so it’s good to hear people so happy with them. One question of key importance to me (as I know it sounds good!) - does it balance as well on the leg for a sit down player as a Strat does? I wish I could find one locally to try first. Thanks for any feedback and...

Doug Diamond from Wild west guitars.

I live fairly close to Wildcat Guitars and was immensely impressed with everybody there when I visited last year, just before lockdown. I went in with a Fender Strat - bought elsewhere but I was referred to them for warranty work - and left knowing that when I am ready to order a Custom Shop...

SHOW US YOUR SILVER SKY MODS!!!!

Thanks, I will check them out. I just remembered though that the bright white pickup covers would then clash with a mint green pickguard and there do not seem to be any easy options there. Hey - you gotta love how it all looks as well as sounds...right!? No matter - my other 3 Strats all have...

SHOW US YOUR SILVER SKY MODS!!!!

I’d be happy if I could find a good mint green pick guard and vintage white knobs/pickup selector for my Dodgem Blue. That would be perfect for me!

635JM-R versus JM64 necks (Silver Sky)

The response I got from PRS was that these two carves were so similar that the tolerances overlapped! Anyway - I’ve been liking the neck on my 2021 SS since late January! And I also really like the 7.25 radius.
