    No more valves…..?

I bought a MKII 50 about a year ago because the hype was strong. Good thing is that it did live up to the hype. You can get very good tube-like tones, but as mentioned before, the feel and nuances of a tube amp can’t be replicated. But they’re amazing amps and ridiculously cheap. That amp gets...

I was just contacted by my SW sales engineer that the Dmz pickup I’ve been waiting for since February has finally been shipped!

Thanks! Yeah that S2 was a beauty too and they’re amazing guitars with excellent build quality. I just couldn’t pass this one up!

    Had to do it

Thanks! Yep a class of its own! Didn’t think I’ll ever own one. It’s pretty much exactly what I wanted. Can’t thank you enough for answering questions I didn’t know I had. When I first got it all I found was the 2008 model, so I jumped at the deal with more enthusiasm than I should. I mean I...

    Had to do it

Thanks man. I’ll try and keep mustering courage to keep recording and sharing. Today I was invited to a jam session because one of my friends saw that video. Brought the PRS, and was able to crank the amp. My god these pickups do sing!

Thanks for watching and for the kind words man. I’m always self-conscious with my playing. I guess we are our worst critics. I know this PRS will grow on me. Should be perfect for classic rock. And the cleans sound almost like P90’s.

https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SC245FAquaBleux--prs-sc-245-aquableux-figured-maple Closest thing I’ve seen. I guess the color is Aquableux. The value still not completely clear but I think $2500 is in the ballpark considering 10 tops go for around 3.5k.

Rocked it for a good 3 hours today. She sounds better than my Gibby LP studio with burstbuckers lol!

    Had to do it

Any info about this guitar? Ran into this article from 2009 that talks about the SC245 with the 57/08 pickups. At the time, just 250 were made, and came with cool stuff like personally signed electronics cover, and matched case. This one being from 2014 I guess it was a re-issue...

    Had to do it

It almost looks like a botched polish job. You can see the hand engraved 57/08. Thanks! Yeah I’m not sure how I got such a good night sleep! I kept the S2 bag, but I really want a case for it. Yep, had to do it!

    Had to do it

Oh yeah no case, but have all the paperwork and even spare back covers. the story about the missing case is a weird one, but whatever. Supposedly, the lining was coming off so the owner trashed it. To my understanding, the case is as exclusive as the guitar itself, it really affects its value.

Here’s the S2 I traded. I’m gonna miss it because that’s a sweet guitar too! Should’ve removed the JB/Jazz combo and installed the factory pups, but it’s a done deal now.

    Had to do it

Traded my S2 and some cash for a 2014 SC245. The only catch is no hard case which is a huge bummer, but it’s otherwise a beautiful guitar, and I couldn’t pass it up. I had my sights on a McCarty single cut for a while. I was gonna get me the S2 single cut, but here I am with a core guitar...

    Couldn’t pass it up.

Funny how i never heard of this amp. I imagine how it would fall through the cracks with the Mark series and dual rectos taking the spotlight around that time.

Thanks guys! Yeah I’m quite happy with it. Also that pedal board and all those pedals were purchased within the past two months. :D

    Couldn’t pass it up.

My good friend always fueling my GAS. First was the S2, then it got crazy from there. Here’s a 90’s Mesa/Boogie Subway Rocket I just couldn’t pass up. I can’t believe the tone that comes out of this little guy at just about ANY volume level! And of course, pairs so well with my S2! Always wanted...

    Best quality combo for beginners?

I own a Katana 50 MKII. The Katana is a great amp for your tone searching. Right off the panel you can dial some killer tones, especially with the MKII and its variation buttons. The real rabbit hole is the boss tone studio. I must say that as good as this amp sounds, it’s not for everyone...

    Push pull pot going bad

That’s a good idea, not seeing which position is in is not that big of a concern. My main concern is not to fumble the pot if I want to split while playing. The previous owner replaced the factory pick guard with a very nice tortoise one. I rather not drill into it that’s for sure. you know...
