so, got my hooks in on this.
A 2000 McCarty 10top Black Cherry.
Judging by the bridge pup cavity, it's a artist relations model, allegedly built for Madonna or her guitarist (which would put this for her 2001 tour where Monte Pittman and Stuart Price handled the guitars).

Was looking through the various wiring schematics on the support page
(because, well, I'm curious like that :D )
Came to the SMokeburst (or rather 2009 Nitro models):
What's up with the 3.3M resistor from the input lug...
So, I was browsing around, looking for a new trussrod cover for my new SC245 Boyd,
thinking I would end up with something like a ebony, bird inlay or something.
Then I stumbled onto the website of Philadelphia Luthier. They make (amongst all other things),
engraved truss rod covers for a vast...
Yeah, that thread.... honestly, I haven't been able to pull myself trough it all, I get overcome with such immense GAS
it's not even funny after like 2 pages. Makes me look at my other inventory like "meh" :goodnight:
Really can't afford to look into that thread too often :vroam:
I do appreciate anyone taking the time to put together a demo like this,
I know first hand the time and and effort that goes into demo vids, so kudos!!
But, just my 5cent, a shootout like this is not helped by first playing guitar one, then talking for half the length of the
I've changed top PIO caps, and Manlius PAF's in one,
marked difference (if its to the better is of course subjective).
I will also rewire my new SC245 to 50's wiring, as I do think
PRS use of the "standard" wiring gives a very muddy roll-off
as it doesn't have a treble bleed.
In my demo, the ZM is strung up with 11's (which I use on all guitars, regardless of scale length).
It was quite a quick and dirty kinda demo, as I was also shooting that one-hour monster PRS shoot out,
so shot this sorta in between other guitars in that demo.
And yeah, ZM did...
I'm very happy with it, it has all the character I like in a good Les Paul,
but with far better sustain, resonance, playabaility, weight, freq-repsonse (the list goes on).
Why anyone would choose a LP over a SC is beyond me (apart from aesthetics of course,
some people put a certain...
I had a TR Reverb sig, and a Studio Pro... don't anymore.
I found "my tone" and pedal platform in a 1966 Fender Showman Blackface head
through a PRS 2x12 cab with Creamback 75's.
I'm with you on some of the pedals though, I especially dig the Bogner Red which I use a lot
for more "amp-like"...
And some pics, since the colors in the vid are kinda off :)
7.9lbs, and sounds absolutely fantastic!
Just had to update with pics taken indoors from more of a "playing angle",
this top is SO dynamic, and changes so much from every angle, super "3D".
ALSO, I miscalculated the kg-<lbs, it's...
