Premier Magazine interview with Paul Reed Smith. Clydesdale?

I love this excerpt: "What Robben Ford wanted and what David Grissom wants is that every one of those models we ship is a his-caliber instrument. He doesn’t want just the couple we tweak for him and then put his name on a bunch of others. Carlos Santana wants a guitar that he can take out...

Is my all-mahogany, McCarty P90 trem a 'mistake'?

Welcome to the PRS Forum, Molly! I believe the guitar ID has been made. It's lovely. Now I'd love to hear the back story on how this wonderful guitar was made in Maryland USA, resided in NZ, and how it got to you in the IOM. Used to live in Blighty, I did, Kiwi

PRS store limited sale of 85/15 and 58/15LT pickups!

Yeah, I remember taking a deep breath before spending $250/pair for 53/10s, before they ran out. Those were the days! -K

PRS store limited sale of 85/15 and 58/15LT pickups!

Thanks very much for the heads-up that 58/15 LTs are available. They're great pickups. Can't justify it at $500 a set, but that's just me, and I'm sure they'll all sell out. =K

    Reminding Me Why I'm Here

To all and sundry here: It really matters to me, and to all of us, that you know that you can unpack and unload your personal situations here in our kind, funny little space. Because we're ALL carrying loads of various sizes. We all do. But we know that to share is to lessen the load. We're...

What is your preferred string gauge and do you feel gauge impacts tone?

There are other things to consider too, besides gauge: Material and winding. I went to nickel wound strings years ago, for their slightly more muted tone. I settled on DR Pure Blues as my standard. I've written here about going to flatwounds when the occasion calls for it, too...

But I just went for strings………….

Wonderful guitar, and a wonderful "I'll just run to GC for a pack of strings" origin story. Enjoy it! Extra points to Hansomatic for offering up a USA bridge, too. That's what makes this place a community. =K PS - You're not alone. Years ago I busted a string and went to GC for a single...

    All about bicycles

Rejoining this conversation, and picking up the story again. I'd posted earlier (in 2021) about my 9-month wait for a Specialized Roubaix Sport, a wonderful bike. In late August I noticed a crack in the rear seatstay, cause unknown. I hadn't crashed it or abused it. I returned it to my LBS...

    Motorcycling with others

Wow. On a 350?? I had one of those and it's... not a big engine. Then again, I rode from CT to TX in 1979 on a Honda 450. Didn't have anything bigger, or better. (Nasty evil vibrating twin.) I worked for a year and bought a proper Honda 750, then spent summer of 1980 on 10,000 mile trip from...
