I've never played through ANY amp that didn't feel or sound as good unless it approached or exceeded the "That's a bit too loud" volume in a home setting. My Sweet 16 is way too loud for the house at the volume it sounds best. Headphone outs are ok, but the "trouser flap" is absent.

    Need a better guitar

Find an older SE Angelus, (Korean). I loved mine. I do love the sound of a Yamaha acoustic when played with a pick. The first few years of the SE acoustics did both pick (strumming), and fingerstyle very well. Since I acquired an early US Angelus (2013), I haven't played any SE model...

    Stoptail Bridges: Adjustable vs. Non-Adjustabe?

Or if you use an odd set of strings with unusual gauge combinations that won't intonate, no matter what (insert Badfinger sound clip).

    Just In Case (Historical Reference)

WOW! A discussion worth looking over. I value the guitar more than the case, but I'm not a collector.

What is 1 piece of gear you regret letting go of that is too expensive to replace now?

I feel the pain. I gave away a 50 watt Marshall head in 1982. I think it was a 2203?

What is 1 piece of gear you regret letting go of that is too expensive to replace now?

Sorry. The one piece is a 1965 Fender Mustang. My first electric guitar. All original, unmodded. Sold it for $200. Thought I made out because I bought it for $180.

What is 1 piece of gear you regret letting go of that is too expensive to replace now?

Pretty much everything I've sold over the past decade or so is more valuable. I would really like to have the stuff I gave away in the late 70's, early 80's. Yep, gave it away.

    EF86/EL84-based 18W Prototype Amp

I can be there Thursday evening. No, not really. Although I'm a little over an hour away, I have 3 amps I don't play through enough. There is a deserving person out there who can use and appreciate it. Really cool of you.

"The more you drink, the better I sound". I cannot consume and perform, though. At all.

PRS you just can't bond with...

Absolutely beautiful. 20th Anni are my favorite, (check my avatar). I've had a few PRS' I didn't "bond" with. Not the fault of the guitar. We all like different things.

    "General Discussion?"

Not a hockey fan either, but "SLAP SHOT" is a good view for the Hanson (Hansen?) brothers, alone.
