The tone pot wiring on the new drop in vs the pre-2007 makes a difference (or I really suck at soldering and fixed a bad spot when I switched the tone pot) still trying to figure out how it changed the tone and working on my soldiering skills
I love the tone of them, I think they’re probably the most versatile pickups I’ve played. I was looking at the pre 2007 vs the current wiring diagram and I noticed a couple of things change with the grounding of the tone pot. Does anyone know what the difference is and why it was done that way?
I installed a set of mccarty pups back in my mccarty and they sound great but it almost sounds like the tone knob is rolled back a hair, like really mid heavy I don’t remember them sounding like this) I checked the wiring and the grounding and the only thing that changed was going from a .022 to...
I’ve always tried to tinker and put different pups or locking stop tail pieces but always wound up back to stock. The only two I can think of that I’ve kept were switching from the normal vintage tunners to the new locking ones on my mccarty and switching the pups in it to seth lovers, although...
The RYRA won out, that is a freaking amazing pedal! I swapped out my 58/15lt for Seth lovers and those work better for me and when I did that both the OCD and RYRA were fantastic together. The OCD isn’t as loud as the RYRA though. I’m really starting to like my setup!
I have a set of 58/15lt in my mccarty and at first I thought I was the lack of or no wax potting in them causing a squill but I was able to recreate the same overtone with the b string fretted like doing a harmonic on the 2nd fret, so now I’m thinking it’s a nut or fret issues and not the pups...
Well I wanted a new one with faded whale blue but it was out of my price range, I was able to kinda turn this one with the pup and tuner upgrades (even got a new electronic drop in) for more than half the price
Has anyone ever tried this out? I have a 2000 whale blue that I was thinking of giving it a go on but was wondering if anyone had any experience, tips or suggestions.[URL='https://forums.prsguitars.com/[/URL]
I had this happen to me in may, I sold an explorer that was hardly ever played and I had a bad feeling when the guy bought it (he low balled me on the price and then when I dropped the price, which was still higher than his offer, he jumped on it) packed the guitar is a custom box I made with...
