    2008 Sc245 neck pickup

Thanks Rod. I lowered the pup to be level with the ring and raised the pole pieces a couple of turns. That helped. It it a bit more open and clear now. It was mud before. I will try it like this for a while. I guess prs pickup recipes are a secret.

    2008 Sc245 neck pickup

Man it's too dark for me. It is the 245 pickup. I like the bridge pickup just fine. I have it set almost level with the ring. Have any of you tried a magnet swap? Any idea what magnet is in it? I am not a high gain player. Just after a good crisp Duane Allman tone.

    "30"

Well I had to look at the inside of my amp. I have built maybe a dozen of my own, including Trainwreck and Dumble clones, and wanted to see what the 30 was made of. It is a very quality build. Yes the is a circuit pwb but it is way overbuilt. It is not wave soldered. Lots of hand wiring. It...

Thoughts on the "30" - who has played one?

I have the "30". It is a fantastic club amp. Musical tones all over the place. I use the master a bit but maybe 3/4 up. It is quite loud and takes pedal real well. I have owned a lot of amps. 18 watt Marshall is my favorite but the 30 sounds great when you can use a bit more volume. It has...

    PRS 30 Amp?

I have one and like it a lot. It is louder than I need but occasionally I get the call for a gig where the guitar is not through the PA. Not to harsh or bright. Very usable tones. It sounds pretty sweet at low volumes also.

    Tough choice for an amp.

Do any of you have a schematic for revision B? Do you know what changes are made?

    Tough choice for an amp.

First gig with the 30 was Saturday night. I really enjoyed it. We were not playing very loud so I could not get the harmonics and feed back I like to mess with but I could tell that they are there. Pushed the front at times with a JHS double barrel but the straight in tone was real nice. Fat...

    Tube amps...why?

Hey I once owned a JC120 in the 80s and was damn proud to jangle on it. Paul Thorn's guitarist, Bill Hinds is is one of the finest I have ever seen. He has mastered the modeling amp. There is no way he could sounds so good at low volume listening rooms as he does on high powered amps. Maybe...

12 Amp comparison by Tim Pierce

You have to like a man that can entertain himself! Park 18 for me. I really liked the Matchless also. The DG50 sounded like he really needed to cut the bass knob back. Bottom was way too loose. Surely that was not a great representation of it. Maybe he was past the SWEET SPOT!

    Holy Grail Amplifiers

The only thing I don't get is Jazz. I wish I did, it's over my head.

    Holy Grail Amplifiers

My Holy Grail has to be the 18 watt Marshall. It sounds great for Country, Blues and Rock. If you need more volume you just play through two of them.I have had a lot of amps and built quite a few including a Dumble clone, an Express, a Liverpool and a 5e3 Deluxe that I still use and my 18 watt...

    Tough choice for an amp.

She came in. I really like it. It's a good fit. I have not got to wring it out yet but will soon. My first impression are that it is very musical. It has chime, grind and punch. It will fit nicely in the back seat of my truck with a well worn strat or tele and a worn CE24 and help me make money...

    Tough choice for an amp.

I've ordered a 30 combo out of Nashville for under a grand. I like the DG30 a lot but couldn't justify the price difference at this time. I've like every clip. Very creamy. It should sound great with slide also. I used to play vintage Bassmans and supers so a Dallas may be in my future.

Have you compared it to the Texaplex?
