    Need Help Selecting a PRS

Thanks. Can't say enough good things about Righteous Guitars for the guitar and Maple Street Guitars for the amp. Now to just play the damn thing! Hate being a gear head!

    Need Help Selecting a PRS

Solved it by sending the MC58 back (there was indeed a problem with the tap switch) in favor of a new McCarty 594 Artist in Copperhead with the LT pickups. Wow, now that's a keeper. More robust tone and musicality in all settings and just a perfectly designed instrument. Also just picked up a...

    Need Help Selecting a PRS

Thanks. Question: when I pull the coil tap on the bridge pickup I can't really hear any significant difference, whether clean or with gain. Is this normal for the 53/10?

Gents, any amp recommendations that would tap the potential of my MC58 53/10? My Rectoverb is better for my strat than for the PRS. Divided by 13 perhaps? Thanks

Thanks bodia. Just got it and plugged into my Mesa Rectoverb 25. Beautiful and versatile. Will have to dial it all in but so glad I got my PRS after 30 years of gawking at them.

I've decided on the McCarty 58 with the 53/10s, artist top amber. From Righteous Guitars in GA. It arrives tomorrow. My wife tells me at this rate I'll be working til I'm 70 (my stable now goes back up to 12 high-end guitars). Thanks everyone.

Thanks gents. I have it down to a 2011 McCarty 58 or a 2004 Custom 22. Thoughts? I would buy it on approval via a brick and mortar dealer.

You know, I've bought and sold four Les Paul's over the years so looking forward to finding a keeper solid humbucker. What about the SC245? Too much an LP relative?

    Need Help Selecting a PRS

First post. Lifelong guitarist looking to select my first PRS. Fell in love with the look and sound due to Mike Oldfield, Carlos Santana. I play all styles but have 50's Strat and Tele to cover the single coil rock and blues sounds, and Gibson L-4 and Heritage Kenny Burrell for Jazz. Just sold...
