I don't think I set my sights too high. If I did, it wouldn't be the first time though. LOL My ZMSETG has a niche in my sonic corral to be sure. My current gig is playing in a current Top 40s group. It works very well for that with no fx at all. Maybe I'm just missing all the guitar leads...
All right fellas. I appreciate all of the positive feedback on this little thread. I do agree with everyone that bonding/feel/connection is a highly personal thing from one person to another. I don't believe there is any scientific or pseudo-scientific way to calibrate it all. I suppose at...
Thanks fellas for the overnight feedback. It is good food for thought. I am WAY old school because, well, I am officially "old" LOL. Not as old as the oldest forum member :-) but I can see him from here. Since I use my guitars as primarily tools for making music, I do switch them around...
Hi Forum Gang. I have had my new ZMSETG for a few months now. I have played it at rehearsals, during practices and on stage live. I dunno. After this passage of time and hours of play time, I guess I have to say that it prolly won't end up being my Number One. Don't get me wrong its a well...
Yes. I prefer 10-46s. I also use some powdered graphite on the nut slots when installing....mainly because the name Big Bends Nut Sauce made me laugh my a$$ off. I asked for it once in a GC and the young sales guy thought I was kidding. Good product. Funny name. Now I just go to an auto...
Just wanted to say that I am really loving my ZMSETG! Only mod was to put on 10's and a little graphite lube and all is well. Digging the sock pikup sounds it gives in my new band. After years of playing another famous HEAVY single cut guitar, the ZMSE doesn't hurt my shoulder after a long...
Nope. Try Ernie Balls Slinkys. Never have a problem with them. I use a 1.00 pick and slam the stuffing out of strings. Only cost you a little time and about $4.
Thanks gush. Yes it is nice to be gigging again. I have now had two practices and two live play dates. Really digging my new ZMSETG. I put 10s on her with no problems at all. I am so used to playing 10s the 9s just felt weird to me. I tend to over stretch 9s so at times I can play a chord...
Yes it certainly is nice to have a gig. Thanks. BTW- for "gush"... my new group does not want me to use any reverb or overdrive. Clean, baby clean. Seems like all the fx are handled by the keyboard and bassist. Nice for a change however.
Thanks for the feedback. The audition went well. I played live with the band on Friday and we are booked for next weekend. So, I am now the lead guitarist for "A.K.A. Groovebiscuit".
OK now. I've got that covered so far. Yeah I agree about the pop music. After playing guitar driven stuff all these years it will be a change. I am thinking that I will be more of a rhythm style player. My audition is tonight. More later. Thanks for your input.
