Thanks Lola. Time to inject something lighthearted. I wish I were more of a quitter as in giving up my 3/day cigar habit/addiction.

One year ago today I suffered a stroke. In the immediate aftermath I could not form a simple chord or play a basic scale. In addition to formal physical therapy I spent hours relearning how to play guitar as a way to stimulate my brain, regain manual dexterity and preserve my sanity. Apparently...

    All about bicycles

Nice job Dave. Setting a goal and achieving it is a BFD. What I really want to know is which flavor of Jello?

Pain after such a workout is to be expected especially when using muscles in a new way. I’m a big fan of active recovery versus being sedentary. Go for a casual walk, swim, spin on a bike. The easy movement actually speeds of the healing process. Add in some light stretching after you’re warmed...

Will PRS ever do another P-90 Core guitar...?

I spent a couple of years looking for the right 594 Soapy SC or hoping PRS would do another run. Then I stumbled upon a Knaggs SC soapy locally. I’m no longer in the market. The Knaggs is now my most played guitar by a lot.

    How Long You Been Playing?

Technically 54 years, but that includes a 25 year hiatus while I was completely focused on my career. Rediscovered the guitar in 2010 and have been playing daily ever since. So I guess realistically 29 years of actual playing.

Tuning peg screws keep coming out on their own my core DGT

I had the very same issue with my GOM 594 from day one. I keep a small screwdriver in the drawer next to my pick box.

The garbage disposal will come in handy for all those recorded tracks that don’t satisfy. (Of course some of us would love to create at the level of your garbage.) Since you’re a pro with a home studio, I suggest the cost of the garage disposal is a legitimate tax write off.

The Age-Old Question Is The Wrong Question!

To me it’s all about talent. I joined a band in 8th grade. I had a Five and Dime guitar and amplifier. B had an expensive SG and any equally good amp. He sounded so much better. Must be the gear, right? We switched. He made my cheap rig sound good while I made his expensive rig sound bad. He...

Makes all of your cycling achievements that much more impressive.

A few years ago I had a perfect day on my birthday. A lovely bicycle ride with unseasonably warm temps for winter. Followed by 1.5 hrs of loud uninterrupted guitar. Followed by a fine cigar with the guys at my cigar club. Followed by a full body sports massage (this was my regular weekly...
