I have a Santana SE Singlecut with the newer TCI ”S” pickups. They were cool, but swapping them for some good ol’ Duncans was a massive upgrade.
I also have a Santana MD 10-Top. Now that sounds like Smooth (and a whole lot of other things).
I’m also thinking about buying these, but I don’t really have a guitar that I would want to put them into. I like all the pickups they’ve got now. Oh well, guess I’ll just HAVE to buy yet another guitar. Damnit.
Yeah, some say the SD90s are a direct fit, but I wonder…I had an SE Zach Myers (2022) which, as far as I know, has the exact same tuners as the SE Paul’s, and they did not fit.
I think you might benefit from changing to slightly hotter pickups. I remember having a Zach Myers and swapping the pickups to SD Pearly Gates pickups, which are a bit more compressed. A lighter pick might also help, but it might be unfruitful to change the feel of the pick. The 245s pickups...
I was there. He played that PRS all night, both sets. No Tele or nuthin’ this time. He was also really into his POG pedal (or whatever octave pedal he uses).
