85/15 pickups (in an old 22)

First off, let me just say this. I put a set of 59/09’s in a 2002 CE-22. Had BK abraxas in there and didnt care for them but holy smokes! I love the 59/09’s in that guitar. They are hot but not too hot, clear and articulate. They split well, although I dont often split my CE. I love em! I just...

    2000 CU22

Just bought another one..... 2000 stoptail Custom 22 10 top with Dragon 2's. Phase 1 Winged Tuners replaced with Phase 2's. 3 way switch and push/pull tone pot. Always wanted a stoptail PRS! I have a serious problem you guys lol. Can't stop buying em. I felt like 1400 out the door was a fair...

    Favorite tones on PRS 408

another question- I swapped strings on my 408 for the first time, and after doing so I noticed that the G string is dramatically louder, and the low E string is almost deadened, muted. Lower volume than the other strings. I don't know if it was like this before and I'm just now noticing it, or...

    Favorite tones on PRS 408

I've been pretty much keeping my 408 neck pickup tapped since I got it a few weeks ago. Tried the neck in humbucker mode and wow. It is clear and warm without being too muddy. I think I prefer the humbucker sounds on mine all around. With cleaner tones, the tapped sounds sound so thin to me...

    Anyone have 85/15’s for sale?

Cant find any listings on reverb. I have a 2004 CE-22 with BK Abraxas in it. I want to swap em for 85/15’s. I even contacted PRS, and they informed me these pickups are not for sale outside of guitar purchases. Anyone have a set laying around they want to sell me or trade for the BK’s?

    Pickup Replacement on 2004 CE-22

It had rotary, but I replaced it with a 3 way switch and push/pull tone pot. Sounds like I can't go wrong with pretty much any of the newer ones!

    Pickup Replacement on 2004 CE-22

Mozzi is making me really want 85/15's! I guess I'll start scouring reverb...

    Pickup Replacement on 2004 CE-22

I guess I want something with nice clarity, not necessarily gainy, but a more modern voiced pickup would be fine. Nothing too dark or muddy. I hadn't considered the Dragon 1's. I did like them in an older CU 24 I played a while back.

    Pickup Replacement on 2004 CE-22

About a year ago, I bought my first PRS. It was a 2002 CE-22 in Whale Blue. It came loaded with a Bare Knuckle Abraxas Pickup set. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the sound of my new 408, but these pickups sound lifeless, dull, and muddy to my ears. I just don't dig them. I want something that offers...

    Just bought a 408

I was honestly worried about some of the mixed response I got from the internet about the 408. The propietary pickups never scared me though. If a stock pickup sounds great to begin with, why would I change it? Of course we all have different tastes, but I'm glad I took the chance and pulled the...

    Just bought a 408

Thanks for the kind words! It may not be a 10 top, but I think it is gorgeous. Is the 408 a good seller for PRS? The pickup design is genius in my mind, and works as advertised. Tight focused neck sound, huge open bridge. And that volume pot, holy hell it dials back gain beautifully with zero...

    Just bought a 408

no, mine is the same finish as the guitar above. Mine has the blade switch instead of the three way toggle. If you right click on my image link and open in new window, you should be able to see it!
