No need for an overdrive with these pickups. In fact, even with a pretty clean amp I turn the volume down to about 7 to get a clean(ish) sound. So I have figured out how to get a clean tone I like and of course you can get any degree of nasty you like all the up to metal overdriven harmonic...
Could not be more different from my DGT. Still getting used to it. These PUPs sustain 4ever. I generally keep my volume at 10 but with these turning down to 5 gives me a level that works better for my style of music an playing. The guitar is brighter and clearly the PUPS are MUCH hotter than...
Just pulled the trigger on a custom 24 with swamp ash body and maple neck (wood library so nice looking wood). It also is an unusual satin finish tiger maple top with smoked hardware and metal pickups. Not sure about the pickups but they can be swapped out if necessary. Should be here in a...
Thanks for all the helpful insights. I am looking at a Custom 24 with some unusual features currently. I really don't need another guitar but as you all understand, I have the bug right now to get one.
I currently own a Wood Library DGT. What I love about it is the neck and also the low wind pickup tone. Was thinking of getting a McCarty 549, but decided it would be too similar to justify. So I am considering a Custom 24 but I don't think I will like the thin neck pattern I see on most...
I doubt I could tell the difference between my maple neck and rosewood necks, so likely not between different rosewood varieties. On an electric guitar playing through overdriven application? On an acoustic guitar or perhaps a very clear amplified electric then I might be able to distinguish a...
My Mom liked pretty vanilla music (other than Elvis). My Dad liked great songwriters and introduced me to some of them. He surprised me when he loved Meatloafs Bat outa Hell album and he also liked John Lennon (not so much the Beatles). Although there was never a lot of music in my home and...
I had previously owned 2 PRS guitars and eventually sold them. They just weren't for me (at least not yet). Then I heard a DGT and the tone blew me away. When I played one I was hooked. Everything about the guitar is exactly what I want at this time. Then I decided to check out who DG was...
Thanks for the great responses. I think I will check out the Momo bag. I was thinking of Reunion Blues, but if the Mono is more supportive I would go in that direction. Just don't like lugging a hard case around and most of my guitars came with them.
