You and me both Les! Glad to hear your son is doing so well.

Reporting back in. Did the work today. The claw was snugged up tight against the body. Backed the claw screws out ~ 3/8" and that did it. Also added a set of PRS faux bone tuning buttons that I bought from someone on TGP to the phase II tuners . I am pleased :D

Thanks for the quick response! So I need to back the screws out a bit from the wood to get it to float. Will this help with the tension also?

I picked up a new to me Santana III. The trem feels VERY tight, takes much more effort than my old DGT. It has 4 springs installed and the trem is against the body, no room to raise the pitch. Do the guitars normallly ship with 4 springs installed, or 3? Thanks!

I think "USA only" is due to restrictions on importation of Brazillian rosewood...

I just picked up a Santana III. The trem arm is a really snug fit, more than any of my others I have had. I know I can loosen the small adjustment screw to solve that. The question is: Is the bushing itself supposed to be a continuous circle with no breaks? This one has a small gap on each side...

What type of modification?

Just curious. Does anybody here know if the stock Santa III pickups can be coil tapped?

Swapped my Zack out with a set of Bloodline covered buckers from John Page that I won in a Vintage Guitar giveaway, and put a set of double cream Dimarzio 36th anniversary in my Santana. The zebra 245's were OK, but I like the replacements much better, seems like a more vintage vibe to my ears.
