I carry a double guitar case and rarely break strings live.

At a jam. Put it in the case and took out the spare guitar. Forgot it was now a 5 stringer. Went to a practice with a different group. Took out the 5 string McCarty. That's all.

Adam, the bassist, sold the 5 string and has brought his 4 string old Fender out of retirement. The drummer says the bass and amp combo is the best he's ever heard.

I have many great guitars: LP TV Special, SG, Strats, Teles, Jazzmaster, LP Jr, and the Melody Maker I bought when I was 16, but the McCarty is the one that always satisfies.

43 years ago I used a black face Bassman into a Marshall 4×12. Divine tone.

One of my acoustics guitars was sent in for a drop fill and new clear pickguard. Without asking me, it was plecked and I was charged. A free refret was the solution to a very expensive crown and polish that rendered the frets too low to play comfortably. Any good luthier can do the work by hand.
