    McCarty II - thoughts? Value?

There is a McCarty II avalaliable at a local shop near me in excellent (pretty much "as new" as far as I can see) condition for what I think is a good price. It works out to about $1450 USD. I can't find too much pricing info on these models as it looks like they didn't make them for very long...

SE CU 24 bridge screw question

I have a WMI made SE Custom 24. The 6 knife edge screws for the trem are not quite all level. 3 bass side ones are level E and G string ones are slightly down and the B string one is a bit more. It's not a big difference, probably a few thou, but I would think given the bridge design these...

New PRS SE Cu24 Fire Red

It looks like a metal shaving or something under the veneer top. Is there a possibility of air getting under the veneer, or is it finished over? I wouldn't worry about minor marks on the fret board, but a lift under the veneer would be cause to return for me.

    Pots for SE Tremonti Custom?

There are several makers of pre wired kits that include pots, switch, jack, caps ect. I would either buy one of those or the components themselves and just upgrade everything in one go.

SE nuts. How much difference does an upgrade make?

I put on TUSQ # PT-6643-00. I did not notice a difference in tone, but a huge difference in tuning ease and stability.

SE Customs Now Manufactured in Indonesia?

Will the savings be passed onto the consumer? I doubt that the finished unit cost is the same in Indonesia as it is from WMI Korea. Country of manufacture doesn't necessarily determine a product's quality, but it does give some indication to it. The price we pay for an American made guitar...

2018 SE Custom 24 - Upgrade questions (bridge, nut, and tuners)

I also upgraded the pots, caps, switch and jack to premium American made components.

2018 SE Custom 24 - Upgrade questions (bridge, nut, and tuners)

I replaced the nut on my 2017 SE CU 24 with a graphtech black TUSQ PT-6643-00. The stock nut appears to be plastic and not overly high quality. It was grabbing the G and sometimes the D strings. Could have probably worked on it a but with a file, but the TUSQ works very well. It is a drop in...

Why are PRS Tuners so ugly?

I think they suit the PRS headstock, but maybe that' just because that's what is on there.

    Humbucking pickup

Keep the strat for single coil tones and sell the LP (if it isn't comfortable is isn't working for you) and get a LPish humbucker guitar that is comfortable for you.

    Introduce yourself!

Hi everyone, I have been playing guitar for about a year with a MiM Tele, which I really like. I wanted a humbucker guitar and went to the guitar store because they had a Gibson SG on sale. They had 3 different ones in the store and all had sky high actions, one had a serious chunk out of the...
