IMO, only mistake PRS made with new CE was calling it a CE. Automatically invites comparison with the old CE, which was more or less a bolt on core. If they called it a “somewhere between S2 and Core“ I think there’d be less bitching about it, although that might be hard to fit on truss rod cover.

Truss rod cover and vintage tuning machines. McCarty’s didn’t get locking tuners until 2015, and by that point Customs had a 5 way blade. There’s also the body and peg head width, but if you can eyeball that from a picture I’d be impressed.
