    New amp

OK. This is the last one. I swear. Did a quick setup with compressor and overdrive (only a little) into the Henriksen direct out to interface.

    New amp

I think I got lucky and got a little better mix with this one. Not too proud of the solo, but I like the sound. This is a Charlie Parker Blues called "Laird Baird" from his album, Now's the Time. That's a 20 lb. cat beside me. Goes by the name Toby.

    New amp

This is my S2 McCarty into a henriksen jazz amp 10. Besides the amp sounding great, it makes recording very easy with the XLR out. You’ll get the idea by hearing the first 30 seconds. Discovered that the Bluetooth backing track from my phone also goes to the line out. I do a lot of...

Thanks so much. Almost for got to mention the song is called Chi Chi. I realize it says the title on the still shot of the video, but I should have given credit.

A quick video I shot yesterday. I've been obsessed with Charlie Parker blues, lately. This one has been in my head for about 3 weeks. Just plugged straight into the interface - no frills.

What do you think is the best song ever..

I really love You'd Be So Nice To Come Home To. It's my number one. Best rock song, though - Born to Run Honorable mention - anything by Michael Franks is absolute genius. Jimmy Webb, as well.

    Confession...

Well, I should have mentioned - I can tell the difference from one to the other, but I don't what they're called. I just... I don't care. My Heritage 575 has the smallest neck of any guitar I have ever had my hands on. I wonder if it was a custom order or a mistake. Whatever it is, I...

    Confession...

Just watched a Rhett Shull video (I'm a big fan of his videos), and it reminded me of something that REALLY bothers me. - I hear it in many videos, I hear customers say, I hear my students say, I hear my colleagues say: the neck carve is not right, too wide, too flat, too thin, the neck carve...

    Schon vs. Cain

    Yep!

    Love the feeling here.

I'm new here, as well. Seems like a great place to be. FWIW, I get to see a lot of SE, S2, CE and Core models, and my feeling is you can't go wrong with any of them. I guess I'm firmly entrenched in the S2 camp, as that's the only PRS I own and what I can afford. At the price point, the...

    Good Amp for Hollowbody?

It may depend more on the style of music than the type of guitar. I love my Quilter. Many solid state "jazz" amps are much more versatile than you might think. A few pedals and you can do anything with a Polytone, Quilter, Henriksen, etc. I played everything from Duke Ellington to Santana...

Got the cart before the horse, but...

Yes. New to the club. An S2 McCarty, and I absolutely love it.

Got the cart before the horse, but...

For me, he's a pretty drastic variation on the use/style of music and playing. He's great, but not my cup of tea. I have heard he knows and can play the more traditional style, but just doesn't. There are great players - Buddy Emmons, Curley Chalker, and (more contemporary) Paul Franklin...

Got the cart before the horse, but...

Steel is, in fact, a unique and wonderful instrument. Having grown up with that sound engrained in me, I have a very Western swing/traditional country ideal of how it’s supposed to sound. After avoiding playing one for 55 years, it took my dad’s passing about 19 months ago to inspire me to...
