Was using a 5D II with a 400mm L lens.
We have flocks of the white/yellow and pink/grey all the time in town here. Haven't seen the black ones since childhood tho, so was excited when they showed up.
Looks like hard eastern maple ("Michigan" )to me. Many of the highly figured tops will be bigleaf (softer) western maple. Could be part of what you're liking about the tone of that one.
By the way Serg - I gotta say I dig the legacy vibe you've come up with. Think Uncle Rico would really dig the 8̶2̶ ... umm 83. Love those old pre-factory mahogany guitars. Mystical.
I know you'll be disappointed, though it's not my fine work! :laugh: It was on eBay some years back - guy said that the holes were done to make it more resonant. It went mighty cheap (I should have bid).
