I did the same thing to the top of my '07 Singlecut Satin 10 top. I like it so much that I plan to eventually fully refinish it in glossy nitro. But, I have about a hundred other projects with higher priority, so it will probably remain in in-between satin-gloss purgatory for as long as I'm alive.

Good choice. I have a very early production set of those in my best PRS. Really great tones available. There are also useful coil split and high frequency tilt switching options available by messing around with unused solder terminals on those pickups.

You might also have to flip the magnet in one pickup.

I wouldn't say I've been physically harmed, but there have been some strong words in my household. And some of the strongest came with a core PRS.

The SE G&Bs definitely have alnico magnets. Not sure which variety though. Probably Al-II I put my preferred Al-IVs in a couple of them, but I couldn't be sure how much of a difference that made. Which is more evidence that they're standard Asian alnico magnets.
