    Soldering Iron recommendations

Does you weller just have 1-10 numbers ??? and what size tip were you using when you "cooked" a Volume pot. if your just has numbers run at 7-8 and use a wide tip , do not preheat the pot just set the solder and tip down on the pot together and make a small puddle , then tin ( add solder ) to...

Small Iron , a change of heart

I have to say small iron ( lower wattage ) amps are growing on me. Here is the revamped amp shelfs :) The HDRX20 is a stellar place to spend some time , plenty loud but great at a whisper also , I've had other and tried other lower wattage amps , this one is much more usable and easier to dial...

    Modern Eagle Pickup Question

Hmmm My ME II had Modern Eagle pickups , and was told by a few folks that they were a precursor to the 57/08 but they were much lower output ( High 7s ) than the 57/08 so likely closer to the 58/15 LT

    Soldering Iron recommendations

Get this one you will thank me later :) 600-700 degrees is a real sweet spot for fast , safe soldering. Melting the solder fast is key to not wrecking pots and switches also the higher wattage makes speaker cable easy to make and installing and removing pickup covers. Another tip is -- use...

Impossible to get covers of PRS pickups

New :) non lead based solder is MUCH harder to remove. you need a really hot iron and then add new solder to get the melting started also have something ( thin plastic ) to put in the gap. The ones I have removed have also been wax potted that makes it harder also

I like DGT neck profile - what is closest PRS profile? (+Profile name consusion content)

DGT is an interesting neck , narrow at the nut wider as it goes down the neck , a cross between the Pattern reg and the Pattern. The Fiore and the NF53 are very close. there was also a CU22 Triple P90 that had a DGT neck carve and the original 513 neck carve was close also.

PRS DGT SE Muddy Tone / HX Stomp tone comparison

I don't hear anything bass heavy , sounds like a humbucker clean to me. It can 100% take some time to get you ear used to a new tone , just bring up your fav older preset with your Strat then start with the DGT Tapped and experiment from there , don't be afraid to sound different that's the...

    PRS DGT SE Intonation

I would try running your intonation thru the full range I am betting it will intonate in a different spot

Anyone else's G string sound weird/warbly only on the neck pickup with distortion?

Couple of things , How close are you to your speaker ? could be a sympathetic vibration of the pickup or something else on the guitar. and or check your intonation. I would start there.
