The open back and the closed back cabs have different speakers hence the wattage difference. Per PRS’s websie both of the new 212 cabs are 8 ohm. I would run a 112 cab with your combo since those cabs are 16ohm and there will be no ohm miss match
The loops were updated 11/2014. I had a noise issue on an earlier Archon 100 (maybe a 2013?) which was a deal breaker for me (worked fine with a regular pedal board but was noisy with my Fractal Audio FX8). Since then I had a 2017 50w and currently own a 2015 100w and both loops were quiet and...
I did a quick recording with the new Bare Knuckle Miracle Man Pickups I put in my PRS Standard 24. I used a PRS Archon 100w head with a Fractal Audio FX8 for effects. Running through a Suhr Reactive load using the new Ownhammer Friedman IR's. Tuning is Drop B...

So I have been debating on getting a PRS for awhile and have been waiting to find something I like in a price range that won't break the bank (I don't want to drop a lot of cash down on a guitar I am not 100% sure on). So I put a 2004 PRS Standard 24 on layaway at my local store, it is 99% mint...
FWIW, I just purchased the new Own Hammer Friedman BE412 cab pack and I am really impressed (i own an actual Friedman BE 412 cab and they did a fantastic job capturing its sound). Was able to get some really nice tones with my Archon 100w running through a Suhr Reactive Load into an apogee...
