I'm in a small town on the edge of Lake Huron. The roads in town aren't too bad, but the highways and county roads were closed due to drifts and poor (i.e. zero) visibility from high winds. So we can't leave town, and work is about 25km outside.
3rd day in a row snowed in from going to work - roads are closed and my employer is telling non-crucial employees to stay home. I can still get around town, though.
More time for practice!
"I wouldn't say I've been missing it, Bob."
It's nice to have another musician in the family.
My brother-in-law-to-be-maybe plays semi-professionally, and gave me a Little Big Muff Pi for Christmas. Very cool.
Makes some interesting noises with my S2 Cu24.
Sometimes all they need is a little polishing. I took some fine fret polishing paper and wrapped it a round a thin feeler gauge. A few runs through the nut slot and some Nut Sauce and the grabbing was gone, with minimum material removed.
FWIW I had the identical problem with my Dlx Strat.
I've had my S2 Cu24 for just over 6 months now, and I must agree with every point you make. When I first tried it in the store I knew it must be mine! I still love it.
One 2013 PRS S-2 Custom 24 (gray-black)
One 2004 Fender 50th Anniversary American Deluxe Strat.
That's all for now. I'm not sure what I'll go for next; perhaps some sort of semi-hollowbody.
I've had my gray-black S2 CU24 for about 4-1/2 months now. I'm still enjoying it immensely. Sometimes I'll pick up my strat for a bit, but the CU24 always feels better when I go back to it. Apart from a couple of minor setup issues, it was perfect right from the start.
It does have a coil...
Hmmm, this is something I've been thinking about. I love the Strat sound, but after playing my PRS, I don't care for the feel of my old Am. Special anymore. Perhaps it's the jumbo frets, maybe it's this particular guitar. I seem to recall the Am. Std I had 20 years ago being better.
If PRS...
The first one was in the late 80's. It was a black Washburn electric. I don't remember a model name. At that time I had no idea what I was doing.
A few years later I sold it and picked up a 3 tone burst Am. Std. Strat. Several years later I had to pawn it to pay bills during a rough patch...
After two weeks I haven't played anything else. I absolutely agree on the feel of the neck.
Getting #7 is awesome! I was thrilled when I looked at the SN and saw 000039. No AS or anything, though.
