    PRS SE McCarty 594

That's probably due to different component values between old and new but who knows.

    PRS SE McCarty 594

100% disagree unless you are (accidentally) changing the value of the pots resistance . Due to tolerances you probably are changing the resistance when updating them ... unless you measure and roll sets of pots. The only thing quality pots bring are different (perhaps better or not) taper...

Big shout out to PRS for creating the S2 DC594 series guitar

That's an S2 McCarty 594 Thinline. Great guitar. Compared to the non-thinline S2 McCarty 594, it's all Mahogany (no maple cap), lighter, and has the pickup switch by the knobs (where it should be ;-)). If the S2 McCarty 594 is a Les Paul, this is an SG (but in reality this guitar has it's...

    Smaller Traditional Pedalboard Cable Plugs

I'm pretty happy with the EBS patch cables. I know the OP is focused on "traditional" cables. They are perhaps the lowest profile patch cables around and have worked well for me.

Wireless Amp / guitar SS ystem

The Boss units are perhaps the lowest latency products out there.

Wireless Amp / guitar SS ystem

Boss WL-50 works well. Like the pedalboard mount and the socket to plug in an instrument cable quickly. Low latency as well.

    594 middle position question

Explore the tone in middle position just after rolling back gets you sound and turn up your amp a bit to compensate....

What good pedal board patch cables are you using ?

EBS Gold's are the smallest profile patch cables I've found. They work very well.

    Travel Guitar

Is that a Fralin Split Rail?

    Travel Guitar

I travel with a Hohner GT-3 (a licensed Steinberger headless clone). It's a full scale, neck thru body, no compromise design (assuming you buy into the headless concept). Have always been able to carry it onto a plane and stow it.

S2 McCarty 594 is an EXCELLENT Guitar

Inspired by, sure. Like playing it better, perhaps. Better build and tuning stability, definitely. But the Thinline is not quite the same tone or feel as an SG if you're wanting that vibe. TLDR; close but no cigar.

PRS Core Cases - One time Baggage Hold Use?

I'd be most concerned with how the guitar fits in the case. If there's no slop and it's supported firmly all around, the guitar won't move inside or have forces focused on on part (e.g., the neck). This varies from guitar to guitar and case to case. My cases fit pretty tight.... No concerns...

GASing for a Mesa Boogie Mark v

The 50 Caliber+ is an often overlooked Boogie. It can be creamy, crunchy, distorted (not qualified to say it chuggs, and it's more than I ever want), and very high headroom cleans. Like all Boogies, it can sing and breath. Far simpler than the Marks, but able to create a variety of tones. Like...

PRS Core Cases - One time Baggage Hold Use?

TLDR; Applies to US airlines only. No guarantees that it gets on board (depending on space, who boarded before you, the people working that day). It always pays to be nice to the people at the gate and on the plane. Many times they want to help and sometimes they have the ability. You can...

So we need to talk about that speaker cab I made.

Measure twice, cut once. Assuming this reduces the effective dimensions linearly, where will that move the resonant peak?
