I had noticed on Chinese copies that the tops a thin veneer and not the triditional maple top. Also they have a tendency to join several pieces of wood to form the body. There are several videos on fake PRS. These should help.
The pickups work fine. To my ear, they seem to have more "clearity" (less mid-range) than most humbuckers.

I'm new to PRS guitars. I receintly purchased a '99 McCarty Hollowbody II. I've read online that the McCarty Arch top pickups have less output than the regular McCarty pickups, but what does that equate to tonally? What are people's experience?
Also which do you prefer? Or do you dislike them...
