Just fitted 57/08s (pre etching) in my 2004 CU22. Added the 3 way toggle and push/pull tone pot. Never really got on with the Dragon IIs in it. The 57/08s are outstanding and the split coil sounds are brilliant. So it’s got to be worth a try in a Strat.

I stared using the Fishman for acoustic gigs and naturally started to use it for HBII. It’s transparent the compressor subtle and the eq excellent. The boost is also useful. It just sounds very musical. The magnetics go out through my pedal board to a lightly modded Hot Rod Deluxe VI.

If you plug into the other socket by using the volume controls you can have piezo, magnetic or a blend of the two. I would expect the piezo to sound pretty good through your headphone amp if you pick a clean or acoustic amp model.

If you are new to guitar equipment I think it best to keep it simple to start with but buy gear that you can build on. If you only want to run with one amp for both piezo and magnetic pickups consider a two channel amp so you can have one set to clean for your piezo and the channel set however...
