    Vintage PRS

The older, 80s PRS guitars have the Brazilian rosewood fingerboards and South American mahogany body and neck, features I only see on Private Stocks currently. Plus the vintage ones have the one piece tremolo. I just got an extremely lively-sounding 1988 Custom 24 that makes my 2000 and 2001...

    First PRS and loving it.

Yowza! Winner! Gorgeous top, and gotta give props to the old school Honduran mahogany back. Hope she sounds as good as she looks. PRS makes the best necks in the biz-so comfy and ergonomic. Like a glove.

22 Frets vs. 24 Frets: What are the advantages?

Heh, you're right, guess I should've read through the whole thread. :) I like how the 22 fret PRS models get that classic rock growl when playing a distorted first position A chord on the bridge pickup, something that I don't hear on the Custom 24.

22 Frets vs. 24 Frets: What are the advantages?

Here's an animated gif that I think does a great job illustrating the difference between PRS 24 and 22 fret models. The neck pickup stays put-as Shawn stated, the bridge is shifted forward.

PRS PRIVATE STOCK.....SOMETHING LIKE BRAD DELSON'S GUITAR

Brad Delson's Customs are probably still made with Honduran mahogany. Not as airy sounding as the current mahogany used on USA PRSi.

PRS S2 Series - USA Built!!! For $1179!!!

I'm pretty sure the S2 series will be made w/ African mahogany, just like the other USAs. The SEs use the same Asian mahogany that every other import is made of. Plus I think the S2 Custom 24 will have a solid flame maple top instead of the flame veneer over plain maple that are on the SEs...

Fat guitar, fat tone. The only way to play songs from Morning View and have it sound right.

PRS Guitars: ? (New Slogan Thread)

PRS- why only be "good enough" when you can be great?

For those who have ordered Private Stocks, I could use some help!

If you're spending the extra dough for a PS, might as well get one with a Peruvian/South American Mahogany body and neck. Doubt if it'll make a difference tone wise, especially with a maple top, but hey, you'll have an extra rare, special instrument with Peruvian.

22 Frets vs. 24 Frets: What are the advantages?

It's been my experience that 24 fret guitars sound smoother on the bridge pickup than 22 fretters. Most 22 fret guitars have this harsh, buzzy, high end fizz that can't be dialed down. That trebly bite on the 22 definitely cuts through a band mix better than most 24 fret guitars from what I've...

Would that PRS endorsee happen to be Mike Einziger from Incubus? Looks exactly like the one he used to own, and I read somewhere that he got rid of all his PRS guitars recently.
