Hmm, you might be right. I could pop the stock tuners back in and see if there is much of a difference, my guess is there wouldn't be. The ratio is exactly the same at 18:1, and I lock wrapped the strings on the stock ones.
In any case it is more convenient to put new strings on the locking...
Tusq nut has been installed and I am happy with the results. I have been comfortable doing basic maintenance (string changes, intonation and truss rod adjustments, installed locking tuners and have adjusted trem claw to get the bridge level) but had some reservations about doing the nut. So I...
I was interested in speeding up string changes and did change my SE tuners and will confirm that they have not impacted the tuning stability of this guitar. (If you are wrapping your strings on non-locking tuners using a locking method then they really shouldn't slip anyway, so no surprise...
Just logged out of photo bucket and this forum and checked it and it still has no water mark on my phone... Laptop shows watermark and is blurred out. Weird.
Thanks for the feedback. I am not concerned about it as I was able to reuse the stock screw. Just thought I would share the experience to improve the product and let others know.
Weird...looks clear on my phone. Try clicking the image and see if it clears up. In any case imagine a screw that is obviously smaller than another screw sitting beside it.
I just wonder if anyone else has installed these and notice the same thing.
My SE locking tuners finally arrived and I installed them today, only running into 1 minor issue. The supplied screws are too small (diameter, not length) for my 2017 MIK SE Santana. Maybe not an issue for guitars from Indonesia? I was able to just reuse the ones that came out of the stock...
I am going to have the nut replaced after I install the SE locking tuners I ordered (arriving any day now...). My local luthier has options for nut material and is suggesting a custom bone nut, but he has Tusq available as well. For those of you that have swapped out the SE nut, do you...
Still waiting for the set I ordered in Canada, even though I am in the camp that doesn't currently have any tuning stability issues with the stock SE tuners I wanted to speed up string changes.
I was searching for something similar last year and would suggest trying out the Katana air, Yamaha THR10 and VOX adio GT, all have a very small footprint and decent tones at low volume. You may be underwhelmed in a large open space but they do come into their own at home use. I think the...
