    DGT Strings

Since I started this conversation last year (almost to the day), thought it would be nice to provide an update. My DGT arrived strung with 10's per request from the dealer (Moore Guitars were fantastic to work with). I played it that way for a bit, but admittedly wasn't overly impressed...

    Knocking Down the Finish...

I'll post an update here once I've addressed the neck finish. Got several good ideas to try thanks to y'all 👍

My DGT seems to be resonating more after a few months

I've experienced the same phenomena with my DGT, and it's been strung with 8's... ;) Is this an actual thing? Yamaha, for one, believes so. On electrics, they offer a treatment called, "Initial Response Acceleration." It has something similar for its high-end acoustics too. From it's...

    Knocking Down the Finish...

Scotch-Brite works to knock down any finish-- keep in mind these type of scrub-pads come in different "grits" (levels of abrasion). A good rule of thumb is to begin with the less abrasive and go easy with it to see what the results are, moving to more aggressive if needed. Afterward going back...

    Knocking Down the Finish...

Thanks guys! Now I've got a plan; start with the less aggressive 3000 wet and see where that takes me. Scotch-Brite has worked great for me in the past on poly & Gibson finishes, but I know PRS is using something a little different these days...

    Knocking Down the Finish...

Thanks for the tip! If there is one weakness to the DGT in my estimation, it's the glossy neck. Owning a CE24 with the satin neck has ruined all other finishes for me LOL! All that to say, the finish days are numbered ;) Oooo-- I'll have to check that out. Thanks!

    Knocking Down the Finish...

Played my DGT at church today, and the glossy neck was giving me trouble (never a problem at home LOL!). Part nerves (been 11-years since the last time I played guitar in service) and it was a bit humid in the building... Anyway, this guitar is a lifer and I fully intend to play the frets off...

    PRS In Church?

After many years of playing guitar for various worship teams, I switched to playing bass as we were in serious need of bassists. This morning, 11-years later, I returned to guitar with our current team. It was a little rocky at first, nerves and light gauge strings took me a a song or so to...

    10's on a DGT?

"Are any of you out there using 10's on a DGT?" I ran 10's on mine for a month or two, then switched to 8's... and LOVE IT! For reference, I'm using Ernie Ball Pure Nickel strings. "I'm just wondering if the Trem will need to be adjusted and possibly the truss rod with the change in tension."...

    DGT Finish Strength

Ultimately, I love the current crop of PRS guitars and believe that the company is genuinely trying to improve it's product-- including the finishes. Having a nitro final finish should make repairs to it easier (repairing poly can be a PIA). From a marketing standpoint, it makes sense for PRS...

Victor Vector left due to the normie trolls

Hate to see someone leave the forum with hard feelings. Hopefully he decides to return ;) Maybe it's a generational thing(?) Being an old guy my perspective is much different than most who grew up with on-line tech. To me it's just an advanced pen-pal type of thing, and if someone I don't...

What do you look like? (Pics of oneself)

HA! She is a multifaceted member of the team-- dances, and even sings sometimes :D

Happy to play: From my early days... :D And one from a few weeks ago in our home "studio": These days I split my time between bass and guitar ;)

    NGD PRS S2 10th Anniversary

Congrats on having such a good friend! Oh, and yes-- that's quite the beautiful guitar :D

    PRS In Church?

Great job! Is that a Custom 22 he's playing on? Only us guitar nerds think of such things LOL!
