Since I started this conversation last year (almost to the day), thought it would be nice to provide an update. My DGT arrived strung with 10's per request from the dealer (Moore Guitars were fantastic to work with). I played it that way for a bit, but admittedly wasn't overly impressed...

Scotch-Brite works to knock down any finish-- keep in mind these type of scrub-pads come in different "grits" (levels of abrasion). A good rule of thumb is to begin with the less abrasive and go easy with it to see what the results are, moving to more aggressive if needed. Afterward going back...

Thanks for the tip! If there is one weakness to the DGT in my estimation, it's the glossy neck. Owning a CE24 with the satin neck has ruined all other finishes for me LOL! All that to say, the finish days are numbered ;) Oooo-- I'll have to check that out. Thanks!

Ultimately, I love the current crop of PRS guitars and believe that the company is genuinely trying to improve it's product-- including the finishes. Having a nitro final finish should make repairs to it easier (repairing poly can be a PIA). From a marketing standpoint, it makes sense for PRS...
