    Lacewood PRS?

Ah, never knew that. Definitely a maple, then. Thanks!

    Lacewood PRS?

Thanks. Mine doesn't really look like that. I'm having problems posting a pic, but I found another PRS on reverb (not my listing) that has a similar pattern to mine (different color though). Looks nothing like what you posted. So I'm assuming mine is not lacewood...

CE24: Converting from 3-way to rotary switch

I have a Custom 24 and a CE24, both with the 5-way (the CE24 has a rotary, the CU24 has a 5-way blade). I don't experience a volume drop with either of them when I use the 2 and 4 positions. It's definitely a less "full" sound, but the volume is still there. I think that's what makes PRS's...

    Lacewood PRS?

I have a Custom 22 I'm selling, and a potential buyer inquired whether it is a lacewood. I had never heard of that, so I looked it up and found that PRS has used lacewood in some guitars. I bought this one used, and I have no idea whether it's lacewood or not. Anybody know how I might be able to...

    PRS Wiring Mods Resource Thread

Hey all -- I bought a used 2023 S2 Standard 22. I'd like to switch out the stock wiring to the Core Custom 24 wiring setup. So, I ordered a PRS Custom 24 wiring harness from guitar center. It arrived today. Problem is, the way it is wired doesn't seem to match the Custom 24 wiring diagram...

    Silver Sky vs Fender CS

Also, do you really need to let go of your custom shop to get the SS? You can find a used SS for under $2,000. I got my keeper for about $1,500 used buying one online from guitar center. It was marked down due to a ding in the finish, which doesn’t bother me. Plus they have a generous return...

Converting S2 Standard to Custom 24 Wiring

Quick follow-up. In the event I do upgrade the pickups, I'd like to upgrade them to the Core 85/15 TCI pickups that come with Core Custom 24s. I still have some $ left on a GC gift card, and I see that GC sells these - they only come in the black uncovered version, as far as I can tell. Anybody...

Converting S2 Standard to Custom 24 Wiring

Thanks! Found a wiring harness on guitar center's website and had a gift card with some $ on it, so bought one there. Gonna see how the stock 85/15 S pickups sound with the upgraded wiring before I think about switching out the pickups.

What was your very first PRS...??

Mine was a Core Custom 22, whale blue. I bought in 1998 new, so I assume it was either a 98 or 97. I stopped playing guitar for about a decade, when I took it back up I sold it to fund the purchase of a strat. Wish I still had it. But I like the other PRS’s I’ve acquired since more than that one.

    Silver Sky vs Fender CS

Love my silver sky, if I had to keep only one strat style guitar, that would be it. It’s just better than my fenders, which I love too. But like any guitar, you have to find the right one. Definitely differences between the model years. I had a couple that I let go before I found the one I’m...

Converting S2 Standard to Custom 24 Wiring

Picked up a used S2 Standard today. It's in great shape, I'm loving the feel of this thing. But I'd really like to change the wiring/pickup selection configuration so that it exactly matches what I have on my 2020 Core Custom 24 -- that one has the 5-way blade with volume and tone (no...

    Dead Spec Day

That looks awesome. I didn’t realize that the grain would so visible on the dead spec model, I thought it was just the usual finish. Very nice!

    The Jam Band thread

Playing the same three chords for 15 minutes while trading solos isn't really what jam bands are. I mean, like any "genre," there are good bands and bad bands, so maybe some bad jam bands fall into that category, but in my mind, the best jam bands are the ones that have a sense of adventure...

    NGD Silver Sky SE Maple

Congrats! I too had (still have) a moon white rosewood one, and that convinced me to try a maple one -- picked up a nylon blue a few weeks ago when they were on sale at GC for $650. Love them both.
