Changed the strings on my SE 24 Standard today. Was using EB's Hybrid Slinkys with a 11 for the B and 9 for the high E.
Thought I'd try the Turbo Slinkys with a 12 for the B and a 9.5 for the high E.
Nice results. I can tell there's just a little bit extra output on the B and E. Not in spades...
Yeah, the Pod has been a life (and a back!) saver for me.
I've tried the Matchless amp models within the Pod and even tried some from Worship Tutorials. I dunno, I find those models to be too thin on the top end for me. Maybe it's the Pod, maybe it's the way the amp models are created and maybe...
Actually, I'm playing through a Pod Go at church. Hey, at my age (71) I need all the weight relief I can find!
When you get down to it I really shouldn't be so picky. Don't know if you're familiar with the Pod Go so just in case: in each preset there are 4 Snapshots. Because I want an equal...
I put a set of Lollar P90's in my SG Special. I believe I bought the 50's wind for the bridge and I know for a fact I bought the Low Wind for the neck. The Lollar bridge has a bit more output than the stock Gibson pickup and doesn't sound as harsh as the stock pickup. I love how the high end has...
I installed Schaller M6 135's on my SE 24. They fit right in with no problem. I don't know if they are the best, just simply thought I'd try them.
But I still have tuning issues with this guitar, especially in the winter. I play at church and when we first get there on a Sunday morning it's...
Saw Deep Purple twice and Yes 4 times back in the 70's. Great shows!
First time I saw DP was before "Machine Head" was released. For their final encore they said "here's one that's going to be on our new LP."
They played "Space Truckin!" Place went nuts.
The big surprise with Yes was the final...
I would not call myself proficient on guitar at all. Got my first guitar in 1997, so I was 44 at the time. Worked very heavy hours until 2013 so progress was very, very slow due to lack of time. Got laid off in 2013 and got another job that was pretty much 40 hours a week with some overtime here...
I started on bass guitar in 1969. Played bass in bands pretty much full time from 1974 through 1982. Didn't touch it from 1983 until 1993.
Didn't get my first guitar until around 1997 but progress was very, very slow due to the very long hours I was working for years and years.
I could go on...
Very nice indeed! Our other guitar player who was on acoustic played something similar to what you're doing here. I kinda came up with my own thing to play over what he played.
Thanks for sharing!
There have been many times where I was forced (so to say) to come up with my own parts. A lot of worship music is BIG sounding and even though are sometimes 3 guitars playing there is so much reverb that it's hard to pick out individual parts. I figured as long as I come up with something that...
Yes it is! Never heard the song until I sat down to learn it. I made a few changes seeing how I was the only electric guitar player up today. (Had another guy on acoustic). Even came up with my own solo. Great song and I enjoyed playing it.
Wish I could say yes, but no.
From day one the tone pot on my Vela was scratchy and tuner cleaner didn't help. Now there's no change in tone from 10 down to 3 and once past 3 the tone is instant mud.
Also from day one the 3 way blade switch on my SE 24 Standard was scratchy and tuner cleaner...
