    NGD? F@ck Yeah!

---------------------- Congratulations. Owning that sets a high bar for your sounds. Those guitars don't make bad notes. I hope you make music with it and never stop smiling.

    NGD: My 3rd PRS

That's a great looking, and likely sounding, instrument. Enjoy.

Picking up radio station on 2 channel H

It may not apply to you, but for a few years I lived at the top of Marina City in Chicago. A round concrete structure. Over that time I put many amps, low and high end, into it and all played a latin radio station although some only at high preamp levels. There are some buildings and...

    High output pickups - recommendations?

My advise, probably both too early and too late, is don't. I did that path in the 80s and have watched countless others do the same only to come back. You cannot beat the dynamics and reponse of low output pickups. They are musical in a way high output cannot be. You can always boost a low...

New to PRS - McCarty 594 or Custom22

My 594 McCarty's are far better made versions of Les Paul's I've owned, but with many significant design changes that make the guitar stay in tune, make string changes easier and just make it easier to live with. For me it's like comparing my Camaro I use to own with my Panamera I drive now...

So why do I even bother checking tuning?

------ I find that once I'm tuned for the day the PRS 594 is stable. I use 11-50s and it just holds tune perfectly until the strings are absolutely shot. However, in the midwest I find that taking the guitar out to play (traveling in the cold) and the dry air can cause it to go slightly one...

Anyone playing only/mostly PRS these days??

----- Yeah I have a few Strats, a Tele and a first year Wolfgang but have only played 594s for a few months and I don't see that changing. IDK why I failed to make it easy on myself all those years.

PRS Amps with the KOT V4

I've played a few KOT clones and so far I don't think any can replace it. I paid $400 for mine. I could sell it for that much anytime. It's not on my board because I like more of a mid boost, but if you like a dynamic drive that just gives you a mild mid boost, It's the best on the market.

    New Pedal Board: Simplifying

That's all you need if you know what tone you want, and your guitar and amp have been chosen wisely. I don't use delay and I do use a wah. Otherwise I could gig with what you have.

PRS Amps with the KOT V4

---- I have a KOT and I haven't found an amp it won't work with. It's dynamic and allows more high and low through than a TS. That said, for my rig I like more of a prominent mid boost pedal.

My McCarty has ruined me for wanting to play my other guitars

I share your sentiment. The 594 can do a pretty reasonable stratish tone on the rhythm pickup. Experiment with the volume and tone knobs.

McCarty 594, pickups and tone chasing; 5 pickups in 5 days

Damn, not sure what you are chasing after. I'd give my ears a chance to get used the sound before I started tweaking. In my past I've chased "new' and "different" and found that was a never ending path that took time away from playing music. I've recently put 11s on my McCarty 594s because...

    Sometimes Vintage Gear Just Sucked

Some of it really was awful, both as designed and due to sloppy manfucturing. And a lot of the bad stuff is righty recycled or otherwise discarded, leaving a non representative sample. I've collected a few 60s Strats. I've played plenty from that era that weren't magical to me. Like...

    Show your pedalboard!

Bonamassa wah, Doublerated special, MXR Chorus, Boss tuner, Ditto looper. That's everything I need. I have 100 plus pedals, but when it comes to actually playing at stage volume with other instrument I don't hear a lot of difference in pedals and the Doublerated specials ability to switch...
