    N(used)GD

Did you buy that from the Guitar Center Used section? There was one in there that I was sorely tempted to try, especially since they have the 180 day return policy.

buying a SE 245 , please some advise

I have an older Tremonti SE, with the K serial number; I think it's a 2010 model. It has the wide fat neck. Not sure when the Tremonti SE's started using the wide thin necks. Mine has the bird inlays -- I think it was the first year they did the bird inlays in the SEs. It's such a nice...

buying a SE 245 , please some advise

Hang on, @gaia, I might have given you some bad info. I think the SE needs a 7mm truss rod wrench and not a 5/16". Sorry for the confusion. I take it no truss rod wrench came in the gig bag with your lovely SE245? Don't they play nice? I fall in love with my Tremonti SE every time I play it.

buying a SE 245 , please some advise

Hi Gaia, if it's like my Tremonti SE, it's a 5/16" wrench.

    Tell me everything about DGT!

I know next to nothing about DGTs, so I’ll leave you in the more than capable hands of the forum members for that. alantig’s search suggestion is a good tip. Another way is to enter something like this in google.com: DGT site:forums.prsguitars.com Happy hunting!

SE 245 Standard as a first guitar .... and some questions

Hi Michi, When I started playing guitar a couple of years ago, I found a used Tremonti SE in my local music shop. It’s a similar guitar to the SE 245 that you’re considering— singlecut all mahogany body, dual humbuckers, stop tail. When I told my brother, who’s been playing guitar for over...

    Black Friday Scores!

I saw a craigslist ad for a 2 month old Katana 100 mkii for $200. I thought it’d be long gone, but I responded to the ad anyway. Turns out I was the second to respond, and the first guy wasn’t able to get there until the next day. I went, checked it out, and am such a wheeler dealer that I told...

New SE locking tuners from PRS!

And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming... I bought the SE locking tuners and a core nut, which I had installed on my PRS SE Tremonti. Perfect fit, and the tuners are nice and smooth. The nut was a nice addition -- I haven't heard any pinging when I tune the G string, which...

New SE locking tuners from PRS!

I just bought a set of the locking tuners for my 2010 PRS SE Tremonti. I know they're a direct replacement, but I'm going to have a trusted luthier do the work. While they're replacing the tuners, what other work would you recommend? Replacing the nut? If so, which nut would you recommend...

    NUGD – My first PRS

Nice! I have a Merlin Camena, which was also designed by Tom Kellogg. It got me thru the 5 passes of the Death Ride a few years ago. I’m hoping to make a cycling comeback one of these days. In the meantime, learning to play the guitar is happily taking up most of my spare time.

    NUGD – My first PRS

This is probably wrong of me to ask, but curiosity has gotten the better of me: what bicycle frameset did you sell? (If I had to place a bet, I’d say it’s some kind of boutique titanium frame.) Nice guitar! I’m glad that you found a way to adjust to it and hope it gives you many years of happiness!

That settles it. I have no idea who Winger is and I’m not googling them.

    Any women on this forum?

Um....hello? PRS-owning, guitar-playing woman reporting for duty! I was lucky enough to find a used PRS SE Tremonti once I realized I was going to stick with learning the guitar. I would have been a fool not to buy it, and I'm no fool! I play it every day, and I'm always blown away by what a...

    NGD - it's arrived !!

Happy NGD! I kept checking yesterday to see how I went, but I guess good things come to those who wait. I got a little confused when you referred to it as an SE early in the review, but after a little more coffee, I was able to figure it out. ;-) Enjoy your new guitar -- I'm looking forward...
