Replacement pickup query (Santana I and Retro)

Hi all, I'm looking to swap out the bridge pickups on my Santana I and Core Retro guitars, however just wanted to ensure that the pickup legs are long or short? I don't have any spare pickups about to compare them with the ones currently in the guitars. Would anyone here happen to know...

    2019 Custom 24 w/ piezo

Hi all, Just have to chime in on t'tinternet to say how amazing my 2019 Custom 24 in Trampas green is. Good on PRS for producing such high quality instruments. I wasn't entirely convinced when I picked it up... I bought it w/o trying, as it was from a dealer in Florida and I'm in England...

    58/15 TM - too shrill?

I just picked up a KPA as well... lugging around my massive pedalboard and a valve combo amp is getting tiring, and it takes up a lot of real estate. Looking forward to learning how to use this intriguing piece of technology!

    Introduce yourself!

Thanks! Anderton's isn't too far, about ~40 miles but not too close either. I'm in Buckinghamshire. Good to know that they stock PRS though - next time I'm in that part of the world I'll find an excuse to pop in :-)

    58/15 TM - too shrill?

Thanks for the helpful comments and advice. Rolling back just makes it sound like an anemic '80s metal guitar (and I don't play with a lot of gain at all) - really thin. I'm going to investigate some of the other pickup models mentioned. I'd go the amp/settings route - however live I go...

    58/15 TM - too shrill?

Thanks for the welcome. I'm a fairly new resident, we moved here from Dublin in 2005... wow how time flies! I'll have a wee look this week, that might be the issue. I've read lots of great reviews about that pickup, so I'm puzzled why it would sound so toppy. I can see that the bridge pickup...

    Introduce yourself!

Hi all... doing this a bit backwards, as my first post was in another forum! I remember being aware of PRS guitars back in the late '80s when I saw Santana playing his. I am a huge fan of his, he was my first guitar hero as kid - but I never really wanted to cop his licks or sound. However in...

    58/15 TM - too shrill?

Thanks for that suggestion. I'll open it up and have a look, I have to admit that I haven't opened it up yet - they're such beautiful guitars that I'm loathe to start tinkering with them :-)

    58/15 TM - too shrill?

Hi - I did indeed, and it didn't make that much of a difference. I think it is the overall tone/design of the pickup.

    58/15 TM - too shrill?

Hi all... I've got a newer Santana Retro that has a 58/15 TM in the bridge position - I'm finding it way too shrill, too high mids and no body. Is there any aftermarket (or PRS?) pickup that approximates the Sananta bridge pickup? I played a 1996 Santana I through my rig, with the stock...

    Santana 1 question

Thanks - I thought as much, but wasn't sure. Interesting way of doing things :-) Thanks for the info, looking forward to getting one in the next few weeks!

    Santana 1 question

Thanks for the info. Are they configured one switch per pickup, i.e. on/off - or is one switch the selector and the other the kill switch? I've not had a guitar for a while that has microswitches.

    Santana 1 question

Hi all, Ah - should've titled this "questions" as there are more than one! Apologies if this is the wrong forum for my queries. I've been after a Santana I for some time now, but I'm particular about the figured top etc, so I'm taking my time :) I have a Retro, which I really like. I was...
