2 pickups = toggle
3 pickups = blade (personally I can only deal with blade in the typical Strat location)
Overall I really prefer toggle on the horn for the access and visual feedback.

With 4 conductor wiring yes you just switch the hot/ground to reverse phase. With single conductor you’re stuck having to flip the magnet.
There is, however, some nuance required when coil splits are involved because electrically flipping the phase will change which coil is getting shunted.
Mine has it and I'll agree with the other posters here that the effect is subtle. It wouldn't be a deal breaker for me if I were starting over.
