I have a McCarty, but also love the 85/15 pickups. The CE Model is a great...less expensive way to get into 85/15 pickups.....but of course its a different guitar than the 594. Trem, scale length, etc
I looked around but didn't see a discussion about this yet...the McCarty page on the PRS site lists the stock pickups as "McCarty LT" pickups. Does anyone know anything about these? At first I thought they just renamed the 58/15 LTs, but the 594s are still listed as having those...
Received last week and started gigging it immediately...because why not?! The first time I played it both my drummer and bass player mentioned the pickups' clarity. Awesome guitar!
Am I the only one that, when playing an electric guitar unplugged, instinctually switches the pickup selector when playing a passage that needs a different pickup?
Like... I'll switch from bridge to neck and think to myself..."yeah... That's the stuff...". Maybe just shows how much we "hear"...
Yeah if all this had happened in 6 months or a year I might feel differently! Even at a few weeks a part of me just says "eh....let it wear". I'll send it out this Wednesday and see what happens. Who knows, it may just happen the same way again! I'll still love the guitar regardless!
Working through customer support since I'm not local to my dealer. Tough to decide what to do since I bought it as a daily player/backup gigging guitar. But at less than a month old...doesn't feel like it should be aging so quickly.
I suppose I'll try to send it in and see what happens...
