In my DGT this did the magic:

Finally I have the sound I want:
1)replaced the original 180pf capacitors on both the Bridge and Neck pickups with a treble bleed circuit which has a resistor in parallel to a Capacitor
2) Changed the amp setting to match with the guitar
Now the sound is perfect. When rolling off the volume...
Aha ... I am not the only one sufferring from feedback issues. I have been wondering about this for a long time. I read somewhere that they are very lightly potted. I have seen youtube videos of Grissom playing very close to the amp at very loud volumes. However, unlike most of us he uses...
I did exactly this yesterday on another thread and all that gets displayed is the little img thumbnail. At least that is what i see.
In the thread "pickup height soooooo critical."
I have posted pictures like that in the past and it worked perfectly.
Fully agree with you. I love everything else about the guitar. I need to get that bridge pickup to sound exactly how i want it. Tomorrow evening is experiment time. Besides they are harmless experiments that are fully reversible.
I am indeed happy with how the volume works. I realise removing the cap might make it a tad darker. I do want to brighten it up but leave everything as is.. Have a look at this as I am having issues posting pictures on the forum...
Hi all. Still no chance to unsolder one of the lugs of the 180pf cap. I promise I will do that on Friday evening as I have ordered a few caps as well to try and they will be delivered by then. I have also readup that a 0.047 cap between the hot side of the neck pickup and the neck vol pot will...
Sorry, never had a chance last night. I got in late from work. The one I used on my Strat is a SPRAGUE Electric guitar pre wired 0.001uf treble bleed kit 150k resistor. On the PRS there is a 180pf cap. I wonder if that is where the dark sound is coming from. I love the blend of the two...
Yes indeed it is the slugs. What I did was to raise the slugs on the humbucker to get the right balance between trebl/mid/bass on the pickup. However, raising those meant that there was a volume imbalance between the bridge and the neck pickup. So therefore you end up having to lower the two...
Mine does have a treble bleed cap. However, it appears to function in reverse. when my neck pickup is at 10, it sounds muffled and boomy. when I turn the neck volume to about 3 or 4, there is more treble and more clarity. Very strange. I will try and unsolder one lug tonight and see what...
One thing I have noticed with the DGT is that dialling the volume back makes the neck pickup brighter. Is that normal? If so what kind of wiring is going on here?
I like it, but just wondering if it is normal and why?
