    How Come You Can Get...

Well.........I bet you could. But then.......it'd no longer be a standard.

    neck joint

I dunno?!?? Someone, either Steve Fischer or Paul Reed Smith, (and knowing of both guys utter commitment to guitar building) had a reason. I'm fairly certain it wasn't a momentary lapse of judgement or an over-sight. In the end when I bought the PRS it was because of what the guitar gave me...

    neck joint

Leave it to me to come here and post yet another response that's not particularly germane to the OP's question :) Still I've been waiting for a long while to articulate some thoughts on the PRS acoustics and in light of the direction this thread has taken I believe I'll seize the opportunity...

    Angelus Options

I believe this is somewhat non-responsive to the intent of your question Ben, but I'll offer it anyway in hopes it'll help. I think the Angelus may indeed be one of, if not the single most, unique sounding acoustic guitars I've personally ever laid hands on. It is as great a departure from a...

    Humidity

That may be true but "people" don't really have any built in set of checks and balances to adjust should something go way cadiwampus. To suggest (and I'm not saying you are) that folks should trust the " if I'm comfortable then to so is my guitar" method is clearly not a great idea.

    Humidity

Relative humidity is a strange beast when it come to the issues of guitars :) There are countless factors that enter the picture. There is of course the fundamental where and how the guitar was made. Then the absolute truth in that some guitars just are natural battleships when it comes to...

Strings shipped on the SE Angelus

The wound strings on a D'Addario Bluegrass set are from a medium gauge set. The g, in fact, is heavier than 'some" medium sets. I'd fall over backwards in amazement if that guitar shipped with "heavy" strings. It'd probably be the first guitar in history that shipped with heavy gauge wound...

Are The Acoustics Still Available With A Carbon Neck?

Yes of course. If you follow most of the acoustic guitar forums and I believe you do Schef you'll agree that the PRS acoustics are collectively guitars that purists revel in hating. I've never seen a guitar raise the hackles of Martin and Collings guys like the Angelus. The dislike is an awkward...

Are The Acoustics Still Available With A Carbon Neck?

I'm curious what the "long" answer is?!? I mean.....there simply must have been a sonic reason PRS decided to use the carbon neck in the first place yes?. All things being sonically equal there would then be absolutely no logical reason to incorporate a non adjustable neck if an adjustable neck...

    Pickguard

The top and finish does seem to be particularly soft. As I said I have pretty good control of my right hand. I'm definitely not flailing by any stretch, yet there is clearly some noticeable wear already. A year of this and I'd wear to the wood for sure. The finish of course is nitro so I...

    Pickguard

I've been gigging with my Angelus full time now for about 8 or 9 weeks. Although I don't use a flat pick I do use finger-picks. I'm gettin some fairly serious, what I'd call dents, probably from the tips of the metal first and second finger picks. I'm decidedly NOT a careless or rough right...

    Adjustable truss rod?

Je#us dude. Drop it. You win. Leave me alone.

    Adjustable truss rod?

Scheff, PRS said in essence....medium strings may in fact destroy your guitar neck and indeed they didn't know what adhering to that gauge would ultimately mean to the health of the guitar..then they said... however...don't worry it's under warranty and we'll fix it when and if it's toast...
