I have an S2 Singlecut Semihollow too, and I love it. Very musical and resonant. Plays great. The other guys at my church give me a lot of compliments in the tone too.
They should be ok. You might need to set them up again if things go on for more than a couple days. I don't know if long term damage would be an issue. I suspect not.
I had just restrung it this time around. I've two sets of strings on the guitar in the two weeks I've has it. The strings weren't that old.
My thought was pinching the string too hard may create a small shear point, which weakens the string a bit.
Hi all,
I am a noob to PRS. I recently bought an S2 Singlecut that I'm growing to love quite a bit. I have been tinkering with my setup trying to get neck and action just right, which I finally did :-) . I followed the instructions and loosened the strings before making bridge height...
Too high is also a problem because of the magnetic field interaction with the string. Also, don't discount having the pup angled (closer or further away from the high or low strings). That can also affect the tonal balance of the pickup.
I'm really loving my new S2 Singlecut, but I have a small complaint. The fretboard is a bit rounder than I have used in the past. The radius is a bit smaller.
It's comfortable but a bit trickier for me to setup. I like my action pretty low. Any tips? Thanks in advance!
Ok, one follow up question. If I want to upload my own pics? I tried putting the file name in, and it only puts the HTML code for it, not the actual pic.
Just got it a few days ago. I've played for years and never bought a guitar over $800. I'm glad I did. I'm super impressed with the build quality and tone. It sounds amazing. I'm hearing things in my playing I haven't before.
And a shout out to Sweetwater Sound for the great service and...
