You’re going to owe him because all Silver Sky’s have maple necks. :D

I understand the logic and mechanics behind using a scarf joint. I don’t understand people obsessing over the scarf joint. The scarf joint isn’t a weakness.

I don’t understand the concern over the scarf joint. Scarf joints have been around decades. I have a 2018 Silver Sky. I never wasted a minute obsessing over the scarf joint. It’s the highest quality SSS style guitar I’ve ever played or owned. The angle of the headstock plays a big role in the...

I have a Custom 24 and a Taylor 416ce. It’s all about the neck profile (size and shape).

I seriously doubt it. The silver sky is influenced by vintage Strat specs. That includes the 7.25” radius and vintage sized frets. I go back and forth between my Silver Sky and guitars with 9.5” and 12” with no big noticeable difference. I think radius gets too much attention. Neck profile has a...

Replaced the stock pickguard on my 2018 horizon with a custom made tortoise guard by Mojo Axe on Reverb. Mojo Axe is located in Ohio. Dan does awesome work.

It’s worth the wait. PRS makes exceptional quality instruments. My SS is flawless.

I love my horizon SS. I’m glad I got it before they discontinued it.

I had an American Special Strat with Texas Specials when I bought my Silver Sky. I had no desire to play the Strat anymore. I sold it. The SS is better in every way - in my opinion.

I believe the Fender Texas Special pickups are brighter and slightly higher output than the SIlver Sky pickups. The SS pickups are modeled after 1963-64 pickups. In my opinion, they sound warmer and more even than Texas Specials. That’s just my opinion. My best advice is for you to go try them...

Let’s us know how it works out. I’m curious. My Silver Sky does it occasionally but not to the point where I felt a need to address it.

I would never cover the inside of the pick guard with Bounce. If you think it’s the pick guard, you should apply copper shielding. As mentioned before, my Eric Johnson Strat has a nitro lacquer neck and fretboard. I installed copper shielding, I re-soldered all of the ground connections and...

I notice slight static with my Silver Sky occasionally. It’s not from the pick guard. It’s the nitro finish on the neck. I had a similar issue with an Eric Johnson Strat. It was more severe on the EJ due to the nitro on the neck and fretboard. Trial and error proved it was the nitro neck: I...

Nice choice! I went with horizon because that was the color Mayer used on one of his earliest SS videos. It was the first one I ever saw.

There really isn’t a bad color in the line in my opinion. Congrats!
