Thanks for this. Given my impression that the buzz I hear is the strings rattling against the higher frets, I was suggesting making the neck more like a V, as you indicate. Not less. Would that be a problem? I'm thinking a very small 0.25 degree more V.

Thinking about trying to angle the neck up a smidge (0.25 degree) and lowering the bridge/action a smidge to compensate. That should increase the distance from the strings to the higher frets some, while keeping action roughly the same in the middle of the neck, wouldn't it?

Sorry. I wasn't I clear as I was hoping to be. Relief is at .010 and .005 as indicated above. What I mean is that when I fret a note, the string vibrates along its then free length. It is travel (in that free length) I can see and hear the string just catching the highest frets, though none is...

I can clearly hear the strings just catching up he last fret. That seems to be where it buzzes, even though it doesn't seem higher. It's not the tuners or the saddles. It's the strings hitting the last fret.

For the sake of thoroughness and experimentation, I lowered the neck pickup as far down as it would go. No change. I'm quite stumped. There's nothing obviously wrong. Nut is fine. No obvious high fret. Standard medium+ action, factory spec relief (though different on bass and treble sides)...

Here are some specifics: Relief at 8th fret bass side: 0.010 Relief at 8th fret treble side: 0.005 Not sure why relief is basically half on the high E of what it is on the low E or if that matters. Neck doesn't seem twisted but numbers are as stated. Action at 12th on Low E: a hair above 2mm...
