    Stain & grain Tremonti top

Most tops have some movement in them that will shift how it photographs based on lighting. My first PRS has a similar darker side to yours but I absolutely love it.

    What pedals do you use?

+1 on the MXR. I had one for a long time and it was super simple to dial in.

    What pedals do you use?

I just had a wah, dual overdrive and hx effects for years. I decided to build a full studio board last month after adding a few extra pedals in ‘23. I’m mostly a progressive metal player but play a lot of other genres as well. Signal chain is; Guitar > Whammy DT > Wah > Dual OD > Hizumitas...

    Tremonti- trem vs stoptail

I own both versions of the Tremonti and there are a couple of big feel differences. Palm muting on the right hand is more “narrow” on the stop tail. The difference between fully muted and barely muted is on a physically much smaller scale than the tremolo version. The stop tail strings sit...

    New Strings…

Im a fan of wiping down my strings with plain paper or cloth and every now and then adding string cleaner and a quick wipe down. My sweat seems to be really corrosive so I’m in the habit of wiping down the strings every 1-2 play sessions and wipe down the fretboard every 1-2 weeks. I probably...

Intro and the perfect PRS trio

Ah gotcha! I grew up a metal head. I’ve mellowed out over the years but if I had to round out the trio you started I would grab a Tremonti with the tremolo up route. A beat up dog hair NF53 would look awesome, cheers

    The Signature PRS Tone

You have a long and cool history with music. I get the passion in your tone. PRS guitars are definitely versatile and setups certainly play into the sound of the instrument. I appreciate the thoughtful posts and agree that the 5708s are awesome

Intro and the perfect PRS trio

Welcome to the board! What other genres do you play or are there capabilities you need from the instrument for songwriting? If you like country I would say NF53 but if you want to cover metal I would pick something different. Are you trying to write songs in different tunings? Maybe a 7 string...

    The Signature PRS Tone

You bring up good points and I sincerely enjoy the conversation. My point on live music was where I can’t see the guitar as that’s a dead giveaway. The way I could best describe it is there’s a mid range hump in like a 594 that’s different from a les paul and different from turning on a tube...

    The Signature PRS Tone

Mid-focused and ultra sharp clarity. A lot of non-musicians I’ve played in front of call it bell-like. I find this characteristic holds true of the brand regardless of pickup/guitar or genre (blues, rock, metal, jazz, etc). As a player I would say it’s the most transparent set of instruments...

Tell Me All About Your Favourite Models

Much like OP I believe my favorite is the core Tremonti. It’s the only model I own 2 of, albeit one is a stoptail and the other is a tremolo. I also share the love for satin. My two wood library guitars are both satin. I own various other models that mostly live on the racks pictured below. If I...

    first prs

Woohoo, congrats and enjoy the new axe! What’s the first riff you played on it? Always fun to hear what a persons go to is.

    NGD: NF 53

Sweet axe! Those guitars definitely sound great. From my POV the launch had some negative reception because of the marketing approach with a bunch of YouTubers releasing videos at the time of announcement similar to a tech launch was negatively received in the guitar community. Additionally...
