Is there a fix yet for the MT15 noise/hum?

I guess I need to record it with a condenser microphone :(

Is there a fix yet for the MT15 noise/hum?

Hi @Van Noord , It is present at both channels, standby off. When standby on, the small noise/hum/buzz is gone.

Is there a fix yet for the MT15 noise/hum?

That's great @Van Noord ! Wouldn't it be better to have a very clean tube there? I wonder if even while the loop is not being used, the signal goes through it... mmm... is it V6?

Is there a fix yet for the MT15 noise/hum?

Hi @Future Barbarian ! 1. This is cool! Mine produces a very subtle buzz that passes to the speaker. Though PRS Technical Service said it's normal... I'm not very sure. But this means that other amps might behave the same. 2. The noise comes because you are injecting a signal directly into the...

Is there a fix yet for the MT15 noise/hum?

Hi @Future Barbarian ! I understand now... I see that the Master Volume also controls the level of noise, pre-amp phase. 1. Do you have the same buzz while amp is powered on and standby off? 2. Could you try plugging your guitar (no volume) to the Effects Loop's Return and check if you still...

Is there a fix yet for the MT15 noise/hum?

Great @Future Barbarian ! Please do let us all know how it goes with the buzz sound while the amp is powered on and standby is on OR off. Also, if you don't mind, could you share the readings on both bias exits?

Put EL 34's in my MT-15!!

Hi Guys! They said it should be between 25 and 30mV.

Put EL 34's in my MT-15!!

Got back from Thomann Here are the answers: Hello Mr. Posada, thank you very much for your patience. In this amplifier the standby switch works differently than in other tube amplifiers. The power tubes are under high voltage even when the standby is in "off" position. That´s why small...

Put EL 34's in my MT-15!!

Thank you @bodia ! I’ll take that as a win based on my current reading. I’ll wait on PRS about the questions I asked; they are in another thread. Does your MT15 happens to emit a sound/noise to the speaker while in standby? And when you switch the standby on/off emit a “bump” sound? Thank you in...

Put EL 34's in my MT-15!!

Hi! Yes, usually it is between 25 and 30mV. What I mean is, if you have a chance to read the voltage from both bias points, could you share both results? There is only 1 adjust screw, but there are 2 read points. In my case, one reads 25.1 and the other 27mV. I wonder if that is why it makes...

Hi @BrianC, do you know what is the reading on both outputs of the bias? Thanks!
