For me personally, i dont understand why people drop the 5 way on the CE. Surely its part of the original inception and design, giving more flexibility in tonal differences. Different strokes and all that but like putting a three way on a strat.
Paul (and Paul Miles) said not at the recent UK roadshow. Apparantly the PS dept is always getting requests for these specs. According to Paul the biggest issue (and apparant cost) was the time sheilding the internals for the amounts of electronics..'theres alot of electronics inside those...
No its the same as a regular Bernie but with the satin neck like the Zach Myers model. Apparently PRS did a bunch of these for Bernie so he asked if they could release a batch of them to the public.
Congrats it sounds like you've been on a real journey with this one, great that you've hung in there and worked it out rather than just changing pups and switches out.
I've been eying up the older CE's myself as i've always wanted one with the 5 way, - a proper 'old school' PRS. This thread...
Sure the maple gives a little extra snap but figure the majority of famous strat players tended to lean towards a rosewood board and it aint hurt them. My Brent Mason has a rosewood board and i get plenty of spank out of that!
would love to get my mitts on a DG30 amp and cab over here in the UK, but apparently PRS don't ship them to Europe and no dealers will send me one either. Any facilitators out there!?
