OK but I keep coming up with this in an exhaustive search:
medium jumbo
PRS uses a medium jumbo size exclusively (except for the US made Santana models, which use a slightly bigger size). Jumbo fretwire is the really big stuff like Dunlop 6100 and equivalent sizes at ~. 110-. 055” or Dunlop...
I did find that PRS , supposedly uses the "same" frets (MEDIUM JUMBO) on all it's American Electrics except for the Santana model. I have always played American Fender Strats for decades(still do) and they have medium jumbo frets.
The frets on my S2 McCarty 594 seem wider and taller. I also like...
Well I guess I found it. The article I found says medium jumbos on all American electrics except the Santana models. They sure seem taller than the medium jumbos on my USA DLX Strat and of course I cannot find my calipers.
So, I did search, I did check specs on PRS site? Nothing? What am I missing.
Really would like to know.
Getting another Am Strat soon and the ones I have had in the past have had medium jumbos. The frets on my PRS are definitely taller. I like them.
What are they? Narrow tall?
Thanks folks
So you are saying these pickups are "fine tuned" for this guitar? I know what the TCi deal is but didn't think it applied to my guitar with Korean pickups.
Fractal Audio FM3. Also have an old champ amp. A super Champ x2. The FM3 is the one I use. I have played thru fractal products since 2009..........pretty experienced. Yes, I did say above somewhere that I am looking at the 57/08's and the BKP Abraxas, but I followed that up by saying I am going...
Nah, I wanted and have the form factor I want. But to be clear, I bought the guitar thru Reverb from a store in NJ. I live in Florida, so? Perhaps if it was near me I would try it just to see. Thanks
EDIT: I will say I do regret one thing. Not wanting to wait. Nobody had them, trust me I...
That is a good idea. No one near me has them yet. But very good idea.....................Info with the guitar says it was assembled 6/6/2020, I bought it 4 weeks later. Store, in New Jersey said they ordered them at NAMM 2020 and they just came in-2 only-one SC and one DC. SC is what I wanted...
I am real close to getting the BKP Abraxas pups but this thread has made me realize I need to give it more time.
Especially since all my experience with Humbucker's is 2nd hand knowledge. Friends, forum members and videos. That Phillip McKnight video was the final thing that led me to buy the...
I appreciate all the help in this thread. It's great. I do need to clarify. I am not looking or expecting a certain sound or trying to sound like someone else. I have been playing guitar for 35+ years. Played out for about 30 years. Bands, Trio's, Duo's and solo with midi tracks, etc, etc, etc...
I was looking at those this afternoon at the sweetwater website. $210 each.
I haven't searched for them anywhere else but I will. I figured I would be spending around $500 when I started looking. Thanks
EDIT:
Sweetwater site is the same as everywhere else it seems.
Site info says they will work...
