I emailed PRS and they said the ZM scale length is now 24.594. I responded asking if the neck is still a Wide Fat or is it now a Pattern Vintage? I will follow up with their answer.
That “Dylan Talks Tone” guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about. All he did was look at the wiring of an SE (not Core) and then measure the impedance of the TCI-S pickups. Then he proclaimed that TCI was a gimmick. He didn’t even think about that the difference is actually in how the pickups...
Thank you. I’ve heard them in person and the Core TCI pickups definitely sound better. I wonder if the SE’s TCI humbucker is just a current SE humbucker that has the “tuning” applied to the circuit?
How do the TCI-S pickups in the SE Paul’s Guitar compare to the Core TCI pickups? They certainly look different. I assume the TCI-S pickups are lower quality, like the other SE components?
So it has a treble bleed circuit and the pickups can be truly split.
Is that it, or is there something else that gives it it’s TCI tuning?
Anyone know how the SE TCI circuit differs from the Core TCI circuit, other than the quality of the pickups and parts?
I see resistor on the volume pot. What is the resistor for?
Also, would it make any difference to replace the Alpha pots and the 3 way switch with better quality ones?
It seems no one really knows the details of the TCI System yet? Has anyone looked to see if there are extra resistors and/or capacitors connected to the controls, etc...?
The Digital Harmonic post?
I’m trying to understand how the TCI “system” actually works.
It seems the “system” is in the electronics of the controls because it can be applied to any pickup?
I’m confused about the TCI pickups or “System”.
I thought the TCI pickups were actually different pickups, or are they?
But now I read that “TCI” is actually a System and is going to be used with many different pickups and guitars.
Does anyone know how the TCI System works? Does it use...
