Hi guys,
What do y'all reckon is the best PRS for slide guitar? I think it might be the Mira for upper-fret access but I've never played one so I'm not sure. I like the tone on my NF3 for slide but the access to the dusty bits with a slide isn't good. Any thoughts you have are most welcome.
Hi Guys
This might sound funny but I'm just now getting around to actually learning some songs. I wanted to ask if any of you could suggest some essential blues or blues-rock songs for a basic repertoire?
Thanks in advance!
I agree with Wedge and Hopeful Sinner, Joe B just doesn't do it for me. I can't put my finger on why, either. Joe's obviously a very talented and gifted player. He just seems to lack ... something. I just wish I knew what it was.
Clapton was simply amazing. He played for two hours with no opening act. It's one of the only shows where I couldn't think of anything I'd hve changed, like song selection.
A bunch of great acts are going to Aussie around that time, like Robert Plant, The Tedeschi-Trucks Band, Robert Cray and some others. They're going for the big blues festivals, but Carlos is stopping off here too. :D
Two concerts leap to mind. One was the Robert Cray Band. John Hiatt opened for Robert with Sonny Landreth on slide guitar. The other great concert was Eric Clapton on Friday, 30 March 1990. It was his 45th birthday and we sang Happy Birthday to him.
Woo-hoo! Carlos Santana is coming to New Zealand for shows in Auckland and Christchurch! I can't wait! The Steve Miller band will be opening for them. Now I just need to find out where Carlos usually stands on stage so I can stand in front of him and watch his finger work all night!
Thanks guys! I really appreciate all the feedback.
I read the posts and kept seeing EP Booster over and over again. Not knowing what it was or looked like, I Googled EP Booster and started laughing. One of the guys at my local guitar shop has been raving about this boost pedal he just started...
Well, I'm single, have no kids, I don't smoke and rarely drink. So I've got a chance to satisfy the desire I've had since I was 16 to get some good guitars. :)
Oh, sweet! That is really good of PRS. Do you get to pick the guitar?
Hi Guys,
Does anyone know how to get that awesome 'open' tone that Peter Green was able to coax out of his '59 Les Paul? I know that one of the pickups on his LP had the magnet reversed. I'd rather not rip the guts out of my beloved Stripped 58 but if anyone has a suggestion for how I could...
