    Fretboard binding. In or out?

Thank you guys for participating the voting and sharing your thoughts too! Happy to read your replies and interesting fact to see that the majority opted for the ''no binding PRS'' option. It was just a curiosity voting. At the end of the day, we will play/buy guitars we like and that is all...

    Fretboard binding. In or out?

I hear you and all makes sense. Allow me please to paraphrase the ''old school'' thing by sharing this link including what PRS used to be some years ago: https://guitar-compare.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/2006_prs_product_catalog.pdf Again, todays PRS models are surely technically better and...

    Fretboard binding. In or out?

Agree! A guitar is made and meant to be played for making music. However.. at least one my case: I can not bond with a guitar that does not look good. Now the question ''is what looks good then?'' Well.. again this is very personal, but if I could put this in perspective: almost all PRS models...

    Fretboard binding. In or out?

I would also agree. PRS lately (in my eyes and I do need glasses.. so maybe I am wrong), have 'over..modernised' their finishes and design in general. Their call and I am sure they know what they do, however I would always prefer buying their earliest offerings (if they do these again).

    Fretboard binding. In or out?

This one should be the Santana core standard design. Thankfully, I have the same one in black gold finish (2016 made). Unfortunate to see that the Santana core is changed since (no idea when) and got as a default this plastic fretboard binding.

    Fretboard binding. In or out?

This example is what I dislike the most (design-wise). Black gold finish with no body maple binding, having the fretboard plastic binding. A plain dark fretboard would be way better on guitars like this one. But taste is a very personal thing and someone would perhaps love this or even do not...

    Fretboard binding. In or out?

Agree. PG, Santana, McCarty, DGT, Tremonti, Hollowbody (plus more PRS models) should come without the plastic fretboard binding. Some of them mentioned have no plastic binding anyway today. Unfortunately, Santana and McCarty got that binding few years ago though. I guess, I miss the PRS from...

    Fretboard binding. In or out?

Same here. My Santana Core has no fretboard binding. PRS introduced that spec to Santana line-up some years ago though (and personally do not like it but regardless, perhaps it looks OK on other PRS models indeed). Thank you all for voting and sharing your thoughts!

    Fretboard binding. In or out?

Just wondering.. Have been enjoying my PRS Santana core (without a fretboard binding) since some time ago. These days, I am just browsing for new PRS models however I am not going to purchase one just because whenever I see this plastic white binding at the fretboard, I am kind of ''no''...

    Santana Retro

best PRS model in the line up and quite underrated. ...but we try to promote this from time to time and some of us do a great job!

So I’ve never played a PRS Santana, What am I missing?

+1: amazing guitar. try to check before buying (preferably a core one) and decide. I have a core one and sold all my other guitars (few PRSs and LPs). But as everything, you have to try one.

NGD-Ok...I'm gunna find out if Sergio is right and if all my other guitars are trash.

congrats! Best PRS model and quite underrated*. *not for the people who have it or have played one at least. But let's face it. I do not see that strong push from the brand itself on this particular model.

The best color for a PRS in your opinion?

Black gold for me too :)

Santana tops - why not as nice as CU24s?

Pleased to see some Santana PRSs again (and again). This line-up is quite underrated. At least it seems so. Wonderful design and instrument though.
