    S2 Sub Par Parts?

I took the pick guard out of my 2015 S2 Standard 24 and it has G&B Co Ltd Korean made pups. I had to solder a bad ground wire and it still sounds like crap--almost as if the tone knob were turned completely down. PRS spent weeks selecting pick ups according to the S2 factory video. I'm going to...

    Finally Tried the S2 Line

I didn't happen to Buzz them out with my Fluke meter to check the values, but they are probably similar to what you indicate. My guitar is an S2 Standard 24 Satin model. It was made in the Stevensville, Maryland factory but the pickups and pick guard are assembled and made in Korea. Dave

    Finally Tried the S2 Line

Follow up: After re-soldering the input ground lug on the volume pot to case lug (case to pot lug had bad solder joint) the hum is gone :) The G&B pickups sound just fine in this guitar. My "clean sound" is back to where it should be. I picked up this NOS 2015 ST Standard 24 in mint...

    Finally Tried the S2 Line

Tried a different cable and was still getting the 60Hz hum through the humbuckers at home. I finally took the new strings off and pulled the pickguard/pickup assembly today. I found some bad solder joints on the 3-way switch, but the main culprit was the input ground on one leg of the volume...

    S2 Sub Par Parts?

Error. Bridge reads 8K. Noisy whenever your hand leaves the strings or touches any of pickup height adjustment screws. The tone is bad too. Must be a wiring defect?

    S2 Sub Par Parts?

I have a NOS 2015 S2 Standard 24 I picked up recently on eBay. In humbucker mode bridge pickup reads 13K ohms on my Fluke meter. Middle switch position is 5K ohms and neck position is 13K ohms. Guitar is noisy in humbucker mode and acts like it has a ground or wiring problem. Does anyone have...

    Finally Tried the S2 Line

I took my guitar to a local Guitar Center to have it properly set up (the rest of the way). While there I tried a 2016 S2 Standard 24 Satin through a Princeton Reverb amp. It sounded quiet with no noise. The guitar tech there properly adjusted the truss rod (I was close but still had a slight...

    Finally Tried the S2 Line

Through my Agile the Princeton Reverb is dead quiet. With the PRS in normal humbucker mode it is noisy--especially if you take your hand off of the strings. It acts as if it has a ground or wiring problem? I will remove the pick guard assembly when I have more time and Buzz it out with my Fluke...

    Finally Tried the S2 Line

The Agile 3100 just has the stock Alnico V pickups; nothing special but good sounding through my Princeton Reverb reissue amp. If the tone doesn't improve after proper setup and pickup height adjustment, I may just remove the strings and the pickguard to inspect the pots, switch, and pickups...

    Finally Tried the S2 Line

I picked up a (new old stock) S2 Standard 24 vintage cherry recently on e-Bay for $700. The seller claimed it had never been used and it appears this way. It came in a previously opened PRS shipping box with gig bag and other items. The first thing I noticed was the huge bow in the neck. The...
